    sb/mfkfc - when I was holidaying in Peru I ran into some geordie people. two of them were the parents of Michael bridges's best mate, and bridges spent the majority of his childhood & teenage years at their house.

    I asked them why bridges supported tottenham & their answer was

    "everyone in the north east supports Newcastle. it goes without question. but everyone also has a second team that isn't Sunderland that they like to follow also. most people in Newcastle support arsenal aswell, because they like the football they play. Bridgey decided to support tottenham as his second team solely because he didnt want to be like everyone else in town"
