Wonder if it was called due to do the pitch condition or the fact that the Lovedale Long Lunch is on? Maybe a few wanted a wine instead of the football?

Lovedale is an over 18s event. Not really the kind of thing that attracts young boys usually. Pretty sure it's a beer only diet around Weston.
    It's football, not s***er!!

Ruben though can't complain that his club ain't offering good coin

Because they are. Blokes atagic may not be on top $$ but they well looked after they ain't poor

His whole gripe is BS anyway

The rule that you can't bring in from outside actually encouraging clubs to use the 20s

Exactly what they should be doing.

Not looking to short term plug a hole with an outside player

    Promote the Yoof
I have no doubt that Hamilton and Edgeworth have much bigger player budgets that Magic.

Player payment, or let's say Excessive player payments, are a problem for the clubs where they the clubs can no longer invest in their facilities and youth teams and general professionalism. At least magic have something to show for their years of hard work at Macedonia Park regardless of what they pay their players, can the same be said of other clubs, although a special mention for South Cardiff on their gold plated Chicken Shed and successful team.

It makes no difference if you spend 100k, 200k, or 10k for your players budget, everyone is in it to win it and you shouldn't be in the premier league if your main focus is not to win the competition. As with any major league in the world it's for their first team to win titles and not promote youth, if they are good enough they will play first grade.

If you feel like you would rather spend your total budget on the team to win 5 or 6k at the end of the season then so be it, but you also have a choice. A choice to be competitive, professional, viable. And on making the right choices Magic and some other clubs have got the job done.

Not against youth development but I would rather watch good quality players regardless of age as opposed to an artificially created league where youth are promoted at the exspence of older players because they are old.

Magic had all the play first half but went to the sheds 2.1 down, paid the price for missed chances, olympic were extremely direct, they didn't play a great deal of Football, Olympics goals both pens, second was a bit dubious,

Well done for magic in their improvement of facilities. But in the end its a game of points, and facilities dont get you points.

No. Broadmeadow and Hamo have bought the best players and won the comp in the past. They also have poached or attract (some parents prefer that route) the best juniors in the area for the last decade. Because someone other club buys the best players and become good for a change it becomes a crime? No thanks.

On the other issue about ground development those 2 clubs excel in this area use the community and attract funding very well to make their grounds very functional. An example for all.

Did you notice the Magic coach shove an Olympic player after the FT whistle? Very unsavoury for officials to get involved with opposition players like that!

Interesting if any sanction comes of it.

Yeah little niggle that you shouldnt expect from the coach. You see it at the end on Bartv

The Magic players diffused it pretty well.

Just viewed it on Bartv. Very unsavoury from Zads , also the stomp from Piddington during injury time. How does the referee miss that ?
Let's see if Northern do anything about the incident involving Zads and Smith , or whether they sweep it under the carpet because it's Magic

Zads not the only coach to get a bit heated yesterday. Bloke in an Edgey coaching shirt carried on a right treat in the tunnel to the sheds after the Edgeworth and Lakes game. Throwing haymakers and screaming for everyone to fight him. Throwing in every c**t and f**k he could muster in front of the ball boys and families at the game.
