But as cricket is seen as the main sport by the council they are not wanting to do anything. Also with relocating grounds as we are the third level in the club behind NewFM and WPL we get third choice of the gardens so no other grounds are available for us, if you or the federation can or want to find us a ground for the same costs with no cricket pitch that would be great.

However I do agree that the holes are dangerous and we have been trying to get them sorted for a while.
Do we write to the federation, or do they just divert you to the council?

What about Federal Park? Or Glendale Sports Centre (or whatever it's called)? Or other options I'm probably not thinking about?

I just can't comprehend how your current field is considered an option at all - it is too dangerous to play on. Why not just take a bucket or two of sand to the ground every Saturday morning and fill the holes, is that an easy option?
    OK

Glendale Sports Centre is privately run and therefore they would definitely charge to use it.
Not sure on the state or facilities at Federal Park these days.
Any other options around? Your ground doesn't necessarily have to be in Wallsend. Look at Merewether Advance, they play at Jesmond Park.

As far as I know, Federal is used by the Christian League on Saturdays.

Which I obliviously assume that it is free on Sundays.

Some sand and some blue astroturf might help at least level it a bit.

I called Glendale sports centre just a couple of months ago and they said it would cost $250 per game played there. Which over the course of the year is less than half what the NewFM pays for The Gardens, but setting up each week, storage and Northerns insistence that we play as close to our suburb as possible makes Glendale undesirable. We've also been down that road last time we were in NewFM.
Dobbo will come up with a solution.

Field wasn't that great back then and the supporters sat a similiar distance from the game as the gardens.

I agree, the viewing at The Gardens isn't the best for spectators, just like Glendale, but there isn't anything else around Wallsend that ticks Northerns NewFM criteria sadly. I think Zone League has two rounds at The Gardens not including potential semis. Only being able to play games on a Sunday there makes it hard to fit in all the NewFM, WPL & ZL games as possible

NNSW have majorly screwed up with the viewing at the Speers Point complex so it would be a bit hypocritical of them to take into account spectators viewing when judging ground choice for all the clubs in the area.

Glendale being cheaper than the Gardens, and the club having played there before, sounds way way more appealing for Wallsend than having to deal with the death traps the ZL1 side currently deal with IMO.

    Firsts 5-4 to us.
    Reserves 2-5 I think
    Thirds 0-2

Hope the suburbs first grade bloke that come off with the massive gash above his eye didn't have to spend too long at the hospital waiting for what I can imagine would have been at least a dozen stitches. Hopefully he's all good. Was a very ugly accident.
