    There's more to football in third division Newcastle than getting paid. The Suns have had a few boys come along for preseason over the past couple of years to leave before the season proper due to the clubs stance on not paying players. It's easy to sit on the outside, joke around and think that the clubs is spending dollars on players. The reality is that the Newcastle Suns have never paid a player to play for them, ever. It's enabled the club to create an equal and welcoming environment that boys want to be apart of. Yes, we have lost potential good signings, but what we have is something we are proud of and it's a bit enjoyable to hear comments from outsiders thinking we must pay players.

    Rant over.

    Wishing everyone and enjoyable and injury free season for 2017!

    bad day at the office I think.
    had a few blokes out and few positional changes due to that.
    No excuses tho, don't put chances away you lose games.
    up side our goal was a bomb.
    we never said we were top 4, that's someone else's statement.

    No certainty not, I was sitting in the car behind the goal. Just a keen observer today as my team play Bero in round 1 so just having a look.

    Loses - Jason Thomas, Nima Fukijama, Johnny Stojanovski.
    That's a lot of players to replace Johnny Stoj

    There's a few more first grade departs that aren't on the list;
    Ben Radstaak (Suns 2016 player of the year), Liam Mercer, Daniel Hutchison as well as Igor Karafilovski and Alex Vojdanoski who are both travelling overseas and can't commit due to work, etc so they will be player/coach third grade for just the beginning on the season.
    So that's 5 of the starting grand final team (3 of the 4 GF goal scorers) as losses, plus Johnny on top of that and a couple others who were fringe first graders.
