Has anyone else taken notice of Hoffman's absence from the starting line up in the last few friendlies?

Also, I assume we are still working on letting some young players go. No Devante Clut on the weekend despite his 2 goals in the last game and his direct competition for the spot scored

His non selection of Hoffman is just proof he sees that Hoffman is average and he needs better

So he is playing Georgevski at RB and giving Vujica the chance at Left Back to nail down a spot

It actually a positive as having a competent left back in this comp is a great thing

I'll believe it when I see a promo with the new player in a jersey. The Jets need to stop announcing announcements before the deal is done because most of the time it falls through. It just pisses people off.

A left footed left back at that. Georgievski is a fantastic left back but right footed, so happy with Merrick going for this set up.

The Newcastle Jets could have a new South American attacking midfielder on deck as early as this week but are being careful about getting their hopes up after missing out on an earlier target.

It is understood the deal is close to being sealed, but the club was in a similar position a month ago before the player pulled out due to a family health problem.

It is understood the new signing may not be a marquee player outside the A-League salary cap.

If he does arrive, the Jets will have one vacancy on their roster for a Chinese player, unless they can move on a player not in coach Ernie Merrick’s plans.

Semantics. Lawrie needs to keep his gypo mouth shut if he doesn't have anything to actually announce. The scrap of info came form somewhere; likely from Lawrie's twitter feed last week.

Imo leave the chinese signing till january, use the 2 other foreign spots now and clear out some 'deadwood' between no and jan to fit the chinese in.
