Nobody is saying that...Sydney would have won anyway, but the first decision with the ref referring it NRL style when I thought it was meant to be done behind the scenes, the wait, the confusion, the bad taste it left, the smarminess of Bozza who first pushed for it a year ago......I turned the game off in disgust. It has ruined cricket and NRL and it will do the same to our game.

The system is not foolproof and that first decision proves it....saw a twitter poll where 82% believed it should have been disallowed.

Switched to the old firm derby instead. Great atmosphere and some good mongrel on display despite the serious gap in class between them these days.

We also had a situation like this last night as well. Where the SFC dip shit whose name I don't care to know faked having his face slammed into the goal post by Reddy.

The SFC player went to ground clutching his face in a manner that even a 3 year old girl would consider soft.

The referee should have gone to the replay - seen his head didn't hit the post and then awarded him a red card for trying to have Reddy sent off.

Personally, I'd keep the VAR and just get rid of the A-league.

The passive offside rules are a complete joke - and the result of having far too many ex strikers calling the shots at FIFA over the years.
It doesn't matter if if the Defender would have made it across or not. An offside player blocked his progress - end of story. No goal.

This last point was highlighted by Les Murray among others last night.

It was not an "obvious error".

    We'd still gift them a goal/penalty

Judging by the standards of both these teams might as well just stop the game now.

Call Arnold down from the stand give him the trophy and not waste everyones time next weekend

Yeah coz that Messi bloke is a full thug.

Sticking a boot in, playing for the shirt, putting in a shift are all the keys to his success.

I hope Tommy Oar has a long contract with Brisbane Roar because he's the type of overpaid / over hyped oxygen theif I can see the Jets wasting their money on.
He makes Hoole look like the real deal.

so true, I thought at the 2014 World Cup he was way out of his depth & he'd be back in the a league before to long & now he's struggling at a league level.

every challenge he was muscled off the ball.

I think victory's best hope of beating Sydney is someone doing kantarovski and jamming ninkovic...thinking dj broxham

    otherwise Sydney 2-0

Rojas v Zullo and Kahlfallah v Grant is going to be where Victory have the chance to win it. Troisi also needs to have a great game because I thought he's been off in recent weeks.

I think this has a Sydney 2-1 win all over it. Sydne's defense is what will win it for them. Ibini missing (I assume) will be massive for them - he offers a lot off the bench.

I agree but Arnold has the wood over Muscat atm. Muscat only has the one way of playing and needs a Plan B to have any hope of winning. Id also be doing a Jets of 2008 and playing a different surprise formation in the GF
