    Jets Cult Hero XI

OK, with no A-League football to talk about, I'm bored. An article from the Jets about the greatest Visa player's, and the lack of Corbo and Masi on that list, got me thinking about "who would be in our Cult Hero XI".

Keen to see who most would put in their Newcastle United Cult Hero XI. Here's mine (subject to change as I think about it some more)

    GK - Bob Catlin
    RB - Steve Eagleton
    CB - Tiago Calvano
    CB - Ljubo Milicevic
    LB - Mateo Corbo
    LW - Patricio Rodriguez
    CM - Fabio Vignaroli
    CM - Kasey Wehrman
    RW - Enver Alivodic
    ST - Franco Parisi
    ST - Milton Rodriguez

Griff is a legend and in a league of his own in my opinion.

Neil Young is a really good shout and beats Bobby for me.

That's actually a really good shout. I missed his name while scrolling through the list. I'd put him over Alivodic

There's a couple of players I wanted to add but couldn't fit them in.

Lee Ki-Je, Byun Sung Hwan, Stuart Musialik, Morten Nordstrand, Sean Rooney.

Apart from just putting in Griff 11 times I'd say Nicky Carle, Neil Young, and Songy would be who I'd add into that first list. Could also throw in Bobby Burns despite the short amount of time he was with us, or Ante Covic for an alternate GK suggestion. Also can't forget the Fridge himself Stephen Laybutt.

    Other notable mentions:

    - Sasho
    - Dura
    - Reegs
    - Zadkovich
    - Fiorentini
    - Heskey

Id have Carle as a club legend not a cult hero

also, Durante, very good call. Ruthlessly hacked by Mrdja in the first trial match and came back, Joe Marsten medal winner, great guy. Also probably the only jets player that has ever been shot.

    Noel Spencer.
    Lives in Sydney.
Tells Gypos he's signing with Sydney FC because of the commute.
Leaves Sydney before the season even starts to sign with the Jets.

Jade North would be one of the first players I picked to wear a Jets shirt,
How good was it when he headbutted Mark Rudan.

Ryan Kitto. 37 second TKO of Mariners Keeper Paul Izzo , plus 3 assists in a 4-2 win that gave the Gypos their first ever spoon.
We should have a statue of the bloke outside the ground.

Joel Griffiths. He's the man. Nobody ever connected with the fans the way this bloke did.
From scoring goals to doing free scrotal exams for linesman - he's done it all.
