What I thought too. Big polish community in broadmeadow too.

It was quite a while ago so clutching at straws for an answer but there'll be some oldies (not on here) that will know

Without asking my Uncle I think 93 was the last year Cardiff were in first div, not to sure when southy first year was.

Southy really started in 48 with AA.(there were a couple of Southy sides in 1933/1934 also)
    1960 were Juniors only
1978 Southy Seniors kicked off in 4th division and as Forever says, 1st div in 98.
Cardiff finished in about 93 or 94 as Premy said earlier and restarted in 97 again.
How about the burbs Premy, the Cardiff side in 97 were suburb in 96.

    Spot on Jardels 1948 + 60 = 2008 - 60 year anniversary

there is still controversy on when Southy started officially, I thought it was 1948, but as I said earlier in 1931/1932(not 33/34) there were sides, then they disappeared.
if you go back threw the newspaper articles from the 30's you can find articles about them.
The fella on Southy's gate keeps finding stuff for me.

Played quite a few games v Cardiff back in the day. It was Lymington Park where the licensed club used to be next to the ground I think?? What a great set up that was. I'm talking mid 80's. Wayne Lil Leary was coach in the few years I played against them. The Cardiff boys were always good blokes who enjoyed a beer after the game. I'm certain Sammy Gordon coached there also around this time....,

Some good football history here that some of you might not have had the chance to read before.
