If Gallop and Lowy have any brains they should be on the blower right now working out ways to milk this

    State Funeral for one

Making sure this blokes legacy of what he done for the code in this country should be pushed and not forgotten

No it not about exploiting him for financial benefit

It about making sure this blokes legacy is actually firmly established not just to the football community but to the entire country

I used to love watching Les Murray and Damo Lovelock together on SBS. never failed to bring a smile or a laugh.

I'll always remember the time of anticipation as we football nuts in the Hunter eagerly awaited the arrival of SBS
in 1983? on UHF28. The world opened up through world news, movies...and of course football.
Les Murray was the man who was the face of football for a generation, hungry for video of international matches
and of course the World Cups SBS and Les has covered along the way.

I'm proposing a minutes silence before 1st grade kicks off with Cookers v New Lambton Old Boys Day this Saturday
out of respect for what the man did to influence the way we know football in this country today.

    RIP Les Murray

very sad news, he had been conspicuous by his absence from the scene in recent times, obviously due to his illness - can't really think of anyone on the local football broadcasting scene who is fit to tie Les' bootstraps TBH, gonna be missed...
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...

The tributes have been wonderful to watch and read.

There will continue to be more and more "famous people" passing, and we only have to look in the thread on this forum.

What I hope, and think will happen, is we start to tell these people they're ****ing awesome while they're still alive. Tell them the impact they'de made in their field. A little positivity never hurt anyone.
