Most of those stats are in % which in the absence of the raw numbers those % are representative of can be quite misleading.

If your raw base numbers are low even a marginal improvement can look glowing when you represent it in percentages.

Expanded community, WTF ?. Please APL explain how this metric has any relevance and value add to the A League ???.

We need to start again with a product that people actually want to watch before we start asking for money to fix our issues. We are too busy trying to become the NRL that we are ruining the actual game itself here to do so.

We need to focus on selling out stadiums and making our money that way, then when there is a league full of teams with packed stadiums each week, great atmosphere, etc, people will want to come and check it out themselves.

Sitting in McDonald Jones stadium with a bunch of families hearing a pin drop for 90 mins isn't what football should be. 4000 people singing and screaming for 90 mins in some cramped, pain in the arse to get into and out of, stadium sounds like a lot more fun.


Then, we can actually start to market ourselves as a real league to the rest of the world and make our money from football fans in general instead of trying to convert NRL families over like we do now.

NRL wishes it was a Seppo sport, we need to try and become a Euro one instead. Seppo owners bribe city officials to build them a new stadium, Euro clubs get the president of the entire nation to beg their star player to stay, lol. Way cooler.

Filling up stadiums is not rocket science.

People want to be entertained. That's all. It doesn't even really matter if the team loses so long as they get some dopamine hits from their team scoring goals at the right time in the game ie. not in the last 10 minutes after the score is already 0-3. It doesn't matter that the players are 4 levels below the EPL.

The problem is that iterations of the FFA/APL and the Jets have sterilized the game day atmosphere. There needs to be a return to game day rituals, superstitions, someone needs to pay a tribute in Styx creek, the "Squadron" or whatever it's called these days needs to just entertain itself and be there for the players, and not worry about trying to get the rest of the crowd into it.

The Americans have a great tradition of tailgating at games, and just making a day of it and bringing their own enjoyment of the game with them. We just need to stop expecting the club do it for us.
