I am concerned about how we will deal with their aerial threat. They really put the pressure on the young Phoenix keeper early on, he started flapping an punching and they scored three goals inside the six yard box.
This will test Noah James.

Haven't got access so unsure the reason why the extension is in doubt

Quick summary of it is that he has asked for 2 assistant managers and an extra physio to bring them in line with other clubs. We are the lowest spending club in the league, and until he gets the staff assurances he won't sign. Told the playing group to prepare that he may not be around next year
Interesting story about Hungarian great Ferenc Puskas and his links to South Melbourne and Australian football.

Remember that period clearly and remember Ange at left back. SBS covered the NSL superbly back then and Les and Johnny followed Puskas everywhere, getting smashed together a number of times.
Still not convinced Stanton is worth keeping so not sure we should be that upset if he goes. His game management is still non existent and his subs game is really poor
Stanton calling the clubs bluff is pretty brave or daft. Bloke is in his first gig as head coach and would be better off just getting on with things be grateful a broke ass club like ours and gave him his shot. Discussing with players about his issues with club management is poor and something IMO would have been better left between him and the club. Players just want to play not be party to indifference's between the coach and management.
Unless he sees himself a shot at the Nix gig he should just pipe up and worry about getting the best out of the team with what rounds remain.
But the issue isn’t with Stanton itself, it’s the club not willing to fund the bare essentials. If Stanton is out, it’s not cause of a lack of results, he’s already signed the extension, it’s cause the club isn’t willing to do what is needed to give coaches, Stanton or otherwise, as good a chance as possible.
And if Stanton does leave, with these circumstances being very public, the only coaches I can imagine us signing are more Papas and Stanton kinda of guys, dudes getting their first go at a major team, not anyone accomplished.
