Not overly bothered with the price. Just as a comparison, Sydney Kings are playing Wollongong Wolves in a pre-season game in Newcastle. Adult tickets are $30.

A couple of decent pubs for pre/post-match bevvies in Maitland too.

In a cost-conscious league, it makes sense to play teams from within your state. We're also getting paid to play there (I assume).

I've got no problem with it and doesn't bother me that we play them. Neither team is going around bragging about a pre-season friendly win.

I don't know, given how they went last season the Mariners probably would.

I was thinking more about the cost to families and how charging kids under 16 to attend a trial game is ridiculous.
Club should have stipulated to Maitland Council that if they want the game they should make it accessible to everyone - especially kids and families.

    Ha ha.
It would say more about them if they did.

So there's a fantastic story in the paperweb today about Qatar sabotaging everyone else bids for the 2022 cup.

and of course when discussing a story that happened about 6 years ago we include a big photo of Daniel Arzani and get the first quote from Robbie Slater who was no where near the story but just wanted to get his hot take in.

    This is why Trump won.

I was more concerned that the game was planned for 3pm on a Saturday. During the first weekend of finals when all the AA/Over 35/45+ games are scheduled for 1 or 2pm starts.
