Most on the field agreed, that's probably the best they looked & played all year.
Just couldn't find the net, which seems to be the issue since round 1.
Have they got the same coach as last season?

New Coach, long time Suburb player/club member stepping up to take the reigns.

Unfortunately for Westlakes third grade, looks like they'll be finishing below the bye this year.

When full strength Stocko will be absolutely hard to beat. Gritty win for us away from home. #survivethedrop

We are all waiting for the Cooks Hill downward spiral, only a matter of time before it happens! Great Comp this year.

Haha well a few of the boys have already started taking off for Europe for the WC. Be interesting how the next month or so affects clubs!!!

Not to mention that one of the Cooks Hill boys is getting married in Spain next Wednesday. That has taken 5/6 of them even before the WC. Although Cooks Hill might feel more comfortable than most with a player exodus for the WC, considering reserve grade is so strong.

Any other squads going to suffer from the WC or the classic mid season holiday?

Nobody at Stocko can afford it. Centrelink payments wouldn't even cover the train ride to the airport unfortunately.

No one from Garden Suburb can afford it either.

All our money for the year went into our registration to play.

yeah it's definitely hurt a few of the boys, they've had to cut back to single shot latte's and no smashed avo on toast. But fair play to them, I haven't heard to much whinging!!!

Just had a look at the way the association awards club championships. Does any else think its strange that a win is only worth 2x a draw, rather than in the regular table where a win is 3x a draw?

This makes it possible for a club to finish higher on the ladder but lower in club championships.

    e.g.
Club A finishes the season in all 3 grades with 7 wins and 11 Loses for 21 points
Club B finishes the season in all 3 grades with 18 Draws for 18 points

Club A finishes above Club B in all grades on the ladder

When the club championship is awarded however:
    Club A is given 7 third grade wins = 14 pts, 7 res wins = 28 pts, 7 1st grade wins = 56 pts for a total club championship tally of 98ts
    Club B is given 18 third grade draws = 18 pts, 18 res draws = 36 pts, 18 1st grade draws = 72 pts for a total club championship tally of 126pts

Club B finishes above Club A in club championship

At the completion of all the Official Fixtures for the Premiership in Zone Football
League Competition, the Club which has accumulated the highest number of points
as per the following formula shall win the Club Championship Award.
Points are to be allocated as follows:
Win First Grade - 8 points
Draw First Grade - 4 points
Loss First Grade - nil (0) points
Win Reserve Grade - 4 points
Draw Reserve Grade - 2 points
Loss Reserve Grade - nil (0) points
Win Third Grade - 2 points
Draw Third Grade - 1 point
Loss Third Grade - nil (0) points
