I'm a bit disappointed (especially after seeing him in a gold Jets scarf) that Martin thinks the Knights colours we wear these days are actually our colours (was kinda hoping gold was luckier, shows more prosperity etc etc, more gold is better Martin trust us), but can he at the very least get rid of the shit rugby shirt supplier who can't get a simple online order right ffs...
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...

Newcastle Jets CEO Lawrie McKinna just sent us this snap of club owner Martin Lee addressing over 100 media in Beijing, China. Lawrie, as well as Joel Griffiths and FFA CEO David Gallop are in China developing ties & expanding the Jets brand in the Middle Kingdom. More soon!

Maybe, but if the FFA see the Jets as the the vehicle to expand exposure into China, then that could be good for us. Maybe the FFA will actually look after us a bit.

Gallop was better off taking a couple of stuffed koalas over there and handing them out to the crowd for a cuddle.
Would get the Chinese more excited about Oz than the freakin Jets.

Bit annoyed about Gallop making the trip, where was he last year when the club needed the FFA to just do that little bit more then the bare minimum, to at least give us a fighting chance of being more competitive. Now he wants to be part of the glory and kiss-arse up to the Chinese.
You got the price tag you wanted so you could recoup your costs....now piss off!!!!

Because if the Chinese laid a hand on Griff it would be an international incident.

if this happens it would prove once and for all that the FFA truly does not watch their own product

Maybe Gallop was there to talk to Timmeh.

Maybe Lee is keen on the subsidised marquee idea, or wanted the FFA boss there to enhance credibility.

Could be a myriad of reasons.

Having Gallop there makes sense. Demonstrates the support of the league in what Lee is trying to do with branding the club over in China.

It's also a chance to network between the FFA and the Jets. Can't hurt to have the ear of the FFA chief. I agree with Sammydog that perhaps the FFA will start to see some value in our club which can result in later games which can be broadcast overseas at a friendlier time for Beijing.
