Radio is usually about 10 seconds in front of the telecast I think?

Apparently SBS have signed some new advertising deals for the A-league coverage which have enabled them to purchase more content from foxsports. Hence the saturday night games. I would imagine if they rate well, which if they like friday hold up 100K+ ratings they would become regular, depends on the impact on fox's ratings too I suppose.

Actually all is well with this as besides getting the product out there to a wider market than Foxtel the ratings will assist convincing the likes of Nine and Ten and Seven etc to actually make serious bids next time the TV Rights are up as they may be able to squeeze more than 100k out with their much wider market share.

Even if none of them get the rights the more that bid the greater deal we get

I think that there might be a possibility of Seven picking up the rights next time around.
Losing the V8's means all they have will be the AFL. This leaves them with a gaping hole in their schedule with no sport to fill it in the summer.
Nein has the cricket and league, Ten is now wall to wall motorsport.

If Seven does end up with ALeague, it might actually force them to treat the sport properly rather than bury it or ignore it completely (unless its the WC). This in turn might get more of the mainstream media on our side.

They had their chance and they shit on the game, the players, and the fans.
Based on what happened in the past Channel Seven should NEVER be given the rights to broadcast any A-league matches.

Jim wilson will have your nuts on toast if he ever hears you suggesting 7 don't care about football.

If seen him blow up deluxe on twitter only to make it worse for himself by saying seven has always supported the game......ever since WSW etc etc

I didn't say I wanted it to happen mate, I could count on one hand the number of times I watched channel 7 in the last decade or so. Just saying that is a possibility.

On one hand I fully agree with you. 7 Shit on the game and deserve nothing for that.

End of the day though we need to get the game wanted by mainstream TV to grow it. If it happens to be 7 then we just have to grin and bear it for the good of the code despite how undeserving those pricks are

Football shouldn't even be on tv.

    go to the ground.

Should do what the MLS do and have a blackout in the area the game is on for the live game, increase those attending the game.

That blackout rule has since been overturned in the states I believe. Not sure if MLS is included in the ruling, mainly NFL and baseball to my knowledge

While the decision has not been finalised, Fairfax Media understand the network's content division recently concluded that SBS's 35-year relationship with football – among Australian television's most iconic – should be scaled back dramatically.

Les Murray at SBS - Football Constantly Showed.

Les calls time and retires - They can't wait to ship it out the door.

Just shows how great the effect the man has had on the code in the last 35 years he was at SBS

can't wait for channel 9 to get the rights to the world cup and only show 1/10th of the matches.
