We've played 4 if the last 5 in the road as well so getting the player back home with a 9 day break could because is ordered.
I'm also not prepared to write Jackson off after one poor game. It's unfair to blame it all on him when the midfield was so poor in the last match.

In terms of shots conceded, last week wasn't the worst in the last few weeks. Adelaide were certain more accurate than other teams but we've been allowing plenty of chances and that's down to our attacking style of play.

It surprised me people are seemingly ready to.write off our season.
I am thinking it's gonna be a goal fest. Throw defence out the window and just run at them all game until we knock the door down and put 4 past them.. After we have already conceded 3 ourselves.

    We've locked in 2nd place, all Ernie needs to do in the next couple of weeks is the following;

    - Get Roy scoring again. Easy enough, if he scores 1 he will be banging them in for fun again.
    - Get Vargas and Pato into the squad and fully fit. Work out the best way to play them, whether that means both playing or one off the bench so be it.
    - Sort out the communication between Jackson and Topor. Make them sleep in the same bed for the next few weeks if he needs to. They need to cover each others weaknesses better. That has been Topor and Boogs strong points this year.

Nothing too hard to work out. Let's start booking our GF tickets.

So Kanta in Boogs spot this weekend even though Brown is out to cover his midfield spot.

Not sure if I agree with this sort of tinkering so close to the finals.

I don't like the idea of breaking up the Kanta/Ugar partnership for the season - would be like Sydney putting Brillante at right back. If it is a one off though I can live with it.

Why does everyone forget about one of the few shining lights from our disastrous last season?

Have to tinker, as the current solution isn't good enough. Even in Brown's absence, McGree could probably step into DM alongside UG (or Cowburn possibly).

Ernie needs to sort out the defence, which has been very leaky the last two weeks, but also get some fluidity happening going forward too which has been missing. Arguably the attacking is more important, as that has been our identity this season so far. And especially early in the season, our defence was still pretty ordinary but we scored enough to cover it.

Because he hasnt been mentioned as a CB at all under Merrick and there must be a good reason for this

That is an incredibly lazy front third.

Agreed Ronnie and Pato's lack of work rate killed us against the reds. I dont think you can have both in the same team

I Agree, but Merrick did come out saying if Pato is fit he will be starting i just assumed that would be the case for Vargas also with him being our marquee

Cowburn has been put in the starting 11, presumably in the midfield. Big game for him, if he impresses he could earn a spot going into the finals
