I have heard of quite a few changes for next season, with the semi final series changing back to a top 5 format, plus i have also heard that the 18's and reserve comps will be allowed to make 5 substitutions instead of the usual 3. Thoughts on this everyone
    7/8 March i believe
You are correct regarding subs from what i understand

5 subs per game, might as well have unlimited interchange.
this is meant to be our premier comp, FFS.....these roosters(not allowed to call them cocks) running our game need to leave.....

Same substitution rules as it always has been. But now you can make 5 substitutions per match instead of 3.
Have also heard they have extended 18's and 20's games from 80 minutes to 90 minutes.

Heard the same, whether its true or tongue in cheek is another thing. The Azzurri referenced in this talk is the REAL (and only) Azzurri, from Hamilton.

Talking of Hamilton, I see Olympic are now calling them self “Newcastle Olympic”. Dropped the Hamilton. Makes them sound bigger. Good idea.

Hopefully the change of name improves their results. Been way below par for the last few seasons. Extremely disappointing this year

The Italians changed their name, the Greeks have to as well, can't be upstaged by the barbarians across the Adriatic.

    From the Herald:
Lambton Jaffas have quickly filled the void left by Northern NSW NPL leading scorer Braedyn Crowley with the recruitment of Kale Bradbery from Broadmeadow for 2020.

Bradbery, who won the grand final with Jaffas in 2014, has been with Magic the past five seasons and is a former NNSW state league leading scorer with the Newcastle Jets Youth team.

The striker was also a National Youth League top scorer after gaining an opportunity with the Jets following an impressive start to his senior career at Broadmeadow.

Jaffas were shocked to lose Crowley, a former Jets and Melbourne City A-League player, to reigning premiers Maitland this month, but they found a quality replacement alongside fellow star recruits Mitch Oxborrow (Broadmeadow) and Scott Pettit (Hamilton).

Oxborrow was the Graham Jennings medallist this year, while Pettit is also a former league player of the year.

Jaffas coach James Pascoe, who brought Bradbery into the Jets youth system when he was involved, was pleased to get the fleet-footed striker back to Lambton.

"Kale has been extremely close to coming back a couple of times over my four years at the club," Pascoe said.

"He's always someone I've had a close relationship with, and when Braedyn decided to accept Maitland's offer, it put us in the position to act and sign someone, and Kale was top of the list."

Broadmeadow coach Anthony Richards was disappointed to lose another top-line player. Bradbery and Oxborrow were part of Magic's 2018 grand final victory.

"Kale was pretty good with the boys and the crowd loved him as well, so they'll miss him," Richards said.

"Kale always tried really hard and he's a terrific guy."

But Richards, who has taken over from Ruben Zadkovich as head coach, was excited to see the younger brigade at Magic take their chance.

Skipper Josh Piddington and Justin Broadley are also losses for Magic, through retirement, but 2018 Graham Jennings medallist Sam Walker is an addition from Lake Macquarie.

"Guys like Jacob Dowse, David Ifield and Jeremy Wilson, they should be looking at this and saying this is a great opportunity," Richards said.

"And we've still got Sam Walker, John Majurovski, Kristian Brymora and James Virgili there in attack."

Luke Virgili will be the new captain at Broadmeadow.

Would take Crowley over Bradbury anytime, although I think Bradbury will do well at Jaffas.
Bigger concern is Magic, losing 4 of their starters in Piddo Oxborrow Bradbury and Broadley. On top of that does anyone know if Johnny Griff will play next year, or has he not recovered from the health issues that ended his season this year.
That could be 5 starters gone and as far as i know they have only added Tom Smart and Sam Walker

Can't believe they didn't mention the Member signing for Jaffas as well.

    Typical fake news media.

"Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced that it will conduct a review of Australia’s National Premier Leagues (NPL) competition over the coming months.

The review, which is aimed to be complete by the end of February 2020, will engage a range of key stakeholders, including but not limited to each of Australia’s Member Federations, the Association of Australian Football Clubs (AAFC), Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), FFA’s Women’s Football Council, Football Coaches Australia (FCA), and the Australian Professional Football Clubs Association (APFCA).

The purpose of the review is to reflect on the outcomes realised since the NPL was launched in 2013, identify potential enhancements or initiatives to improve the competition, and clarify the role of the NPL within the national competition structure and the player pathway.

Among other matters, the review will consider the NPL Finals Series including its structure and timing, the cost of youth football in the NPL, the structure of the NPL in each state, and the Player Points System."

Shouldn't this be an ongoing thing anyway with tweaks being made with issues raised so no need for a review as such ?

Also why do it so it going to be until 2021 when any changes be forthcoming as Feb 2020 is gonna be too late to get them sorted for next year
