Qatar 2022 World Cup - AFC Qualifiers

    https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/inte...world-cup-draw

“All the massages I’m getting from the boys is how the good the break has been for them,” said Arnold.

    “Their bodies are fresh..."
    (Oh SBS/Magoo...you've done it again!)
So...the truth is out. Arnie likes a rub-a-dub for a spot in the squad.

Second-round draw 17th July, Kuala Lumpur
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_F...C_Second_Round

Dream draw, purely for the bizzar and weird factor, playing teams we've never or rarely meet is:-
    Australia/Lebanon/India/Maldives/Nepal
Imagine the G&GArmy would have over a Maldives away trip!

Some brilliant arnoldisms in there - laying the excuses down early.

I love that we now have "depth", magically appearing 6 months after not having enough depth to get last the quarters at the asian cup.

And we have up to 4 players in some positions! 4 not particularly good players is still 4 not particularly good players!

I'll say it now - we won't qualify for Qatar

Arnold will blame everyone else but himself and probably keep his job, even though his mates got him the job and even though he will only pick his mates in the team

Boycott the whole corrupt mess that will be this World Cup - wait for the 64 team circus next time

Nepal to take there game to new heights and commence the slippery slope slide back down to earth for the socceroos if Arnie the Gypo still in charge.

we've played right into their hands.

kathmandu - 1400m above sea level
canberra - 580m above sea level

our boys won't be able to handle that much altitude. they'll have had a lifetime of altitude training.

    just forfeit the match now.

Degenek can certainly take a pen...and celebrated like a bastard too in front of opposition fans, who he'll never see again in his life.

I see the ex gypo Stainsbury has signed with a club in Israel.
Question time, what is the league like over there?

Depends. If he's playing for Gazza its pretty rough. Pitch is crap.

On a different note, our Olyroos under the super GVM have slumped to a 1-1 draw with NZ in a warm up game.
The match review reads like a old Jets match report, go forward, get into the box, turn around go back to our keeper, repeat that over and over.

"In my mindset, I believe at the end of this, we will be the greatest Socceroos team ever," Australia head coach Graham Arnold told the media during a teleconference on Friday.
this is your coach guys. enjoy it.

its days like today i thank Griff above that multiple passports exist in real life.

im thoroughly convinced that if Leckie continues to stand there and do nothing he can go on to become Australias greatest ever goal scorer.

Heck, if the CBs want to leave him free 6 yards from goal all the time I'd just stand there too.

Haven't watched the game but I note that two different publications rated players out of 10. One gave Taggart a 4 and the other an 8.

So, was he crap or good? Discuss

    From my Redbull induced haze:

Thought he worked hard, got in some positions but his finishing was pretty poor.

So he was kind of both, but neither if you know what I mean.

Plus it was stinking hot and Leckie got a double so shit was just weird all round.

other results in our group are interesting

Kuwait smacked Nepal 7-0 - which kind of makes it likely that we should also smack them by a cricket score

Taiwan lost to Nepal - so hopefully another cricket score there

Jordan beat Taiwan only 2-1 - so it doesn't look like Taiwan will put up much of a fight

I think we should be disgusted and sack Arnold if we concede a goal in this group

also if we don't concede a goal
