Hopefully he is doing ok. I dont know the reasons why he pulled out and neither do you.

Let's just hope that whatever it is, it's not serious and we can see him back playing football soon

So it turns out the gypo coach told Robbie Slater days ago about his plan to swap keepers but didnt tell the keeper, who is also his captain. What a disgraceful ego driven shithead that bloke is.
Completely blindside and embarrass Ryan on the world stage (and lets face it, that gypo ryan has to live with the shame of being a gypo daily already). He then goes on to label this as the best day in Oz football. Better than Ange getting the cup, better than the events of 05/06. What a ****ing hide on this clown deciding how we should rank his achievement.
He did the bare minimum, he got us there. He played shit football, brought through no new stars and relied on his immediate family and has beens from his days as a shit club coach.
Anyone celebrating Arnold today is a fool and the more you do the more of this shit the public gets spoon fed.
My man Jeterpool was only half joking about the Cahill thing, its entirely up for grabs for him to set aside a few spots for his usual flunkies on the junket to the Middle East.
We as a nation should always be entitled to ask whats next, and not have to swallow the shite thats dished up on the reg. From potential Asian powerhouse to last beggars on the boat.

May Griff bring the wisdom of qualifying single handedly in 2006 to this new group and take them towards the promosed land, rather than the absolute stale turd the gypo inevitably serves us up come November.

Get Jobe to coach em, will do wonders.

    Disc-race.

    Hail Griff.

    I’d like to apologise Redmayne.
I was very annoyed that he was making Goodwin wait to take his pen.
Turns out he was taking the penalty notes away from the Peruvian goalkeeper.

First 2, he keeps looking towards his towel and drink bottle. Guesses the right way. Redmayne takes it.
And from then you see Peruvian keeper looking around for his notes and kicking towels trying to find it, he signals to his bench, the player walking back from his pen is asking which way the keeper should go for the next one.

If it’s true, that’s bloody hilarious. If not, there’s some very imaginative folks on Twitter haha.

    Disagree on Arnold in

The guy still owes the nation an apology for 2007 Asian Cup debacle

Qualifying by arse via pens isn't exactly any great achievement

    Our luck was in

If anything the guy should use the World Cup to blood and establish the likes of McGree Metcalfe and co and establish us a decent side for 2026

Some of you people better remember this next time some Middle Eastern kid is rolling round on the groud behaving like a proper ass
The general acceptance of such low rent behaviour by some people on here is quite breath taking.
I remember the good old days when we tried to win by banging 3 or 4 past an opponent not chucking his water bottle away.

Jimmy Holland, Stu and Griff would never.

    Shameful.

Also, enough with the Wiggles. That shit was banned in Plague Manor whilst the younguns were forming their brain cells.
Geoffrey Robertson didnt need a skivvy in order to learn you something.
Take away the singing and dancing and they are just a bunch of seedy old men staring at your kids.

I don't know how you extrapolate something negative about that comment.
Is this becoming the NPL thread?

Quite frankly, he was one of the first players I thought about after the win.
    He's probably over the moon!
Clubless but possibly heading to Persija Jakarta, it's a move that points to being
closer to home. He should be in the squad for November but it appears there are other things afoot.

The thing I hope comes about with this WC appearance is that it shop windows some of our better, younger players
who might move a few pegs up with higher profile clubs. One can only hope.
Behich, Sainsbury, Mabil and until finalised Rogic are all uncontracted on the squad list I saw recently listing the player's club.

4'08" - Redmayne chucks something over the fence when he's between Qatar & Airways on the fence. The kick list?
    Towel gets kicked 6'09"
9'19" - Redmayne telling the keeper to get on his line? May be giving the f-tard, 'Look-at-me' ref a spray on the way.

Having watched the highlights of the penalties, I don't see Redmayne being any better than Ryan. Happy for someone to post some stat's around penalties saved. But I'm guessing Redmayne's grey wiggle crap has got him noticed and thus labelled a "penalty specialist"

    Redmayne was born in Gosford
Ryan played for a team at Gosford

    They are BOTH GYPOS

Don’t think one is a better penalty saver. I’d argue Ryan probably makes the better saves, and obviously played at a higher level/ more pressure etc.

But from a Peruvian perspective. How much footage can you get on Mat Ryan and penalties? Probably a fair bit from his time in EPL and for Socceroos.
Redmayne? We struggle to access a league highlights or game footage at the best of times, let alone from Peru. I’d hazard a guess and say if you YouTube him prior to this game, you’d catch his penalty shootout routine where he wins it. Psychologically they are also probably thinking, they wouldn’t bring this keeper on to save penalties if he wasn’t good at it, like he must be a good penalty saver to bring him in in the biggest game in 3.5 years.

So I can see the psychological advantage it can offer.

    Got the result though.
Who knows maybe Ryan saves all of them. Maybe not. But we made it!

Redmayne actually has a poor non shootout penalty save percentage at 13% (3 from 9 saved) and actually has very limited shootout experience.

He only really got close to 2 of the penalties of which he should have saved it but didnt and the eventual one he saved.

What disturbs me is that Peru had done research for our penalty takers and had a game plan but our game plan was simply to have Redmayne dance around a bit.

It ****ing worked didn't it ??

We got to get out of this mindset of playing fair and putting in an honest effort and if we lose that's ok

It's a results based game and we need to be proficient at the dark arts of gamesmanship

Lie Chest Steal n play like you are Luis Suarez is in his prime where you knew you had a guy doing everything to Win
