So David Eland said tonight on NBN that the ideal is a 12 team NPL. If that's the plan, the standard of the NPL will decline and NL1 will become even more irrelevant.

Did he explain why it is ideal?

I can't believe the number of times I see on this forum members saying that there isn't enough players for a 12 team comp, I played in the 70's where we always had 12 teams with promotion and relegation, always interest both ends of the comp, you can't tell me that in 50 years there isn't more playing the game, we now have Jets teams, NPL Juniors and SAP, so you are trying to tell me with all those programs in place we can't fill 12 teams. Don't start me on promotion and relegation has to be a must and agree with what Michael Bridges said earlier in the week when he said why do the junior teams have to be affected by the senior team, let there be promotion and relegation in seniors to bring back interest in the comp, surely that would create more interest in the media when they can write and talk about what's happening at both ends, juniors can have there own relegation and promotion, I could say a lot more but would run out of space.

In the 70's and 80's we had teams from Armidale, Central Coast, Tamworth, Forster, Port Macquarie, and other regions competing in the top 3 divisions...

Agree with 12 team comp, but relegate 2 each year from the senior grades. Youth will be decoupled shortly, no need to worry.

I agree leave the juniors as is and promote on 1st. That’s what stops clubs especially in ZPL wanting to go up is the juniors. You can have 2 divisions in juniors and then seniors becomes the 12 best clubs and you could have a flowing 5 leagues. With promotion and relegation across it all

I think last round is Maitland against Jaffas and Magic against Edgy so looks like it will come down to the last round

Think you have wrong person, nothing to do with Southy. ForeverRed is who you are thinking of maybe.

Just my observations from watching game yesterday.

Gets upset and hissys everytime someone mentions Magic. Ignore the child.

Pretty interested who Cooks Hill decide on filling their roster with. Will there be many imports?
