All credit to Maitland but after the first 15 minutes Edgie were very ordinary. Kudos to the home club with the pitch in great order.

And the reason Edgy were very poor ?
    Because Maitland were very good!!

Not a great start by Weston, didn’t expect that score

3 shock results in the opening round.
Biggest shock Lake Macquarie pushing Magic to the limits to secure a 2 - 2 draw.
Second shock Weston conceding 7 goals against Jaffas. While the result wasn't a shock , the score line definitely was
Third shock Maitland beating Edgeworth away from home.
Some interesting second round matches next week.
    Magic playing Olympic
    Edgy playing Jaffas
    Lakes playing Maitland.
Could Bridges begin his Npl coaching career with an 0 and 2 start ?

Was anyone at the Derby match at Magic park .
Magic were the better team, but I thought both were poor and a fair bit behind Lambton and Edgeworth.
Why does Zane persist to.leave his better players on the bench.
Tonight it was Sam Walker Keanu Moore and Josie Attadaye

He has always rotated his squad - probably those three will start next week and others will be on the bench.

Yeah was at the game, wasent the best as you said but thought the atmosphere was fantastic overall, games like this always draw a crowd.

Just a side note from a neutral view, magic Ball boys went MIA later in the 2nd half when magic went up 2-1. I thought yeah late night they may have gone home as most weren't over the age of 8-11. But looked over at the magic bench to see all the ballboys siting over there, not sure if this was poor sportsmanship or just a coincidence all 8 or so ball boys were next to the bench late in the half....

Don't blame it on the 40 year old player coaches, don't blame it on "not spending any money this year" .... blame it on the ball boys

As I said just from a neutral view, not blaming a loss on anyone. Magic were the much better team for alot of the game

I would say they were doing exactly what they had been trained to do.

Jaffas insipid, spineless and lacking any imagination what so ever. Edgy came for a physical match and got nothing in return and had better combinations on and off the ball.

    2-0 Edgy easy

Arguably the best number 10 in the comp, playing left wingback. So wasted

Both teams need to improve, if that’s the best NPL has to offer then the leagues in trouble

Thought Edgy were well organised and looked comfortable. The number 6 was outstanding in the middle.Jaffas had no punch think they only had one decent shot on target for the first 70mins (and it was a fair save).Edgy 2nd goal was really well worked.Jaffas had a good chance pulled back for offside early on which looked pretty debateable.Good way to spend a friday.

They weren't last weekend and beat a poor Olympic last night.
Let's wait until they play the other top teams in Edgy and Jaffas

Long season ahead for the Buds fairly ineffective today against Azzurri who I imagine might be thinking a few goals went begging today. Clearly the better team on the day.
