Except as provided for in other Regulations, the Club whose First Grade Team finishes at
the bottom of the Premier League becomes liable for Relegation
Plenty of areas to veer off from policy

Maybe the Zone League competition has become too big for these smaller affiliate associations to run properly.

Maybe it's time that the zone league competition is run by Northern NSW, makes sense given the referees are under Northern NSW.

We were run by Northern and trust me, we do not want the zone leagues run by Northern again.
Currently we are top of the tree(technically, even if it doesn't look like somedays) if we go to Northern like the comps of old we will pushed into the back ground(all the focus on NPL, womens and HIT) and be used as a bit of a cash cow, about 400k in fees etc straight up..
No promotion/relegation from the above back to zone, so why do it?
There would be no match payments etc, no borrowing of AA players to fill in the gaps, which some clubs seem to need all the time.

Maybe an email canvasing the clubs on the decisions that effect us all have been made might have been a start.
The best way is to band together at the meetings and get change through that forum, instead of this one, plenty of ideas that don't leave these pages.

It seems like no-one is liking the one that has been made so far...

Top of the list of questions to sort out is the minimum number of games needed to award premier and enforce promotion/relegation so clubs know the deal the season starts.

Could be interesting to promote premiers, or offer it, and also offer last placed teams the option to go down.
ZL3 probably the losers in that scenario though, maybe a new team or two?
Then say, okay, for 2023 we want x teams in ZPL, x in ZL1 etc. and maybe relegate 2 teams, promote 1.

Regardless of what they do, they need to make the decision at the beginning of the season, consider covid implications, consider what the majority of clubs want, and go from there. I’m a little surprised there was no consideration given to the “what if’s” after the 2020 season was affected so much.

I agree, let NNSW run it as a fair dinkum good old fashion third division

If they allowed Promotion/Relegation from ZL3 to NPL it would be a good idea

All clubs have to nominate every season what division they want to play in, so every club has the ability to request to go down already. This is nothing new.
The only difference is the straight promotion/relegation swap will not occur now.
Even in the past we've seen premiers not go up (ie argenton folding) or additional teams going down (Terrace most recently) and then teams apply to be promoted.
I've been through the process and been promoted twice despite not being premiers.

The lack of stability of clubs in the region is a bigger concern imo. Clubs get promoted and can't sustain it beyond 2 or 3 seasons. As above, teams fold and withdraw too much. Even Uni had to amalgamate from two into one division in recent times.
Look at ZPL from the last 5 years. Uni, Terrace, Morisset, Jesmond, have all fallen by the wayside. Bero would struggle in ZL2 based on the past few seasons. This should be our strongest clubs competing in our 'Premier' competition.
I know volunteers are a big part, and players move etc, but it's a worry that 'strong' clubs can be crippled so easily in the space of a few years.

All those clubs you mention except Bero have come up and bounced straight back down. Except Uni way back when none of those clubs have been strong in ZPL. I think what it shows is that the gap between ZL1 to ZPL is huge. Look at Cooks Hill one of the biggest clubs in town and they ran last. The top 6-8 clubs are consistent because they have been in the division for years have built strong cultures and have been able to add to squad with players from higher leagues cause they have seen the quality in clubs at this level and to some it’s more competitive and appealing than NEWFM
