Hexham Tarro Hellas Azzurri v Point Break Thistles should be an absolute cracker this weekend.

Last game was very spicy with some good football played. Azzurri only kept 1 clean sheet all season so a fully expect there to be a few goals, in all grades too

Will the Sunday Specialists come away with the win or will Hellas Azzurri bounce back from the weekend?

Went down to watch Swansea play Azzurri on Saturday to scope out the competition. Firstly, that pitch over at Tarro is a really nice surface. Secondly, and the REAL reason I went, I got a chance to watch the "bad boy of the ZPL" Will McMasters in action again. What a hand full he was for the Azzurri defence. He even chipped in with a risky studs up challenge or two and earned himself a card before going off with an injury and using the entire bag of ice on a section of his leg. What a character. Besides that, Swansea were really good. Solid in defence and dangerous up top. Hamilton... sorry I meant Hexham... actually I mean Tarro Azzurri will feel a bit hard done by as the referee was having a shocker but overall they were outclassed. Can anyone from Swansea explain what happened with their coach on the sideline? Second half he stands up and goes off at one of the guys in the Azzurri crowd for some reason. Seemed really out of the blue, do they have history?

Sunday funday with my boys the thistles taking on the kotara bears. For everyone saying Kotara are no good, I just didn't see it yesterday. They showed a lot of heart and had some quality going forward especially. If they don't get relegated, with a pre-season under a more stable coach, they may be knocking around the middle of the table. For us, it's another three points and we move on to next week against Tarro Azzurri - the question is: where will be be playing at? and will they call it off?

With the newest strain of the imported Chinese delicacy, I'd like to wish everyone safe travels and good health. I'll leave you all with a question: are Bero and Azzurri now local rivals and if so, which is the bigger club?

100% Bero are a bigger/better club than the Hamilton/Carrington/Hexham/Tarro mickey mouse club Azzuri.

Decent write up there Johnny Utah, any fresh injury or suspension concerns for the weekend?

Might pop down depending on location/weather/WuFlu restrictions

I know there have been calls to 'Fix Smith Park', but what is actually wrong with it? I believe the Azzurri junior teams and O35s still play there, so I assume it's playable... maybe just not up to ZPL standard?

Something to do with the sheds not being up to standard and no fence around the ground

    This is somewhat correct.

Also with one light pole that has two lights only, it is not suitable for training either.

“Up to ZPL standard” is an interesting concept. Nesbitt = no fence. Connolly’s sheds hardly an improvement on Smith Parks and lighting not the greatest for washouts, however ticks the fence box. NF preference is also for fields to be “stand alone” in ZPL. Swansea and Warner’s Bay, don’t meet that particular criteria, although undeniably make up for it by being otherwise sensational facilities. Won’t lie completely unsure about Cardiff’s new field. I’d personally hardly call Pasadena a premier facility (apologies Bero) and would throw Hexham in the same category there. Mayfield, Dudley and Cooks Hill are the only fields that I can see that would tick each and every requirement for a ZPL facility.

Evans is a bit of a shithole ground currently, no grass and very bumpy.
The Juniors had drainage put in the October before Covid struck and didn't do anything with it grass died away in the heatwave conditions the other summer.
Last summer which wasn't so hot, the grounds looked good even with no work on them, but now the summer grass has died off there is nothing left but dirt, not much we could have done as we didnt get the ground until march.

CCFC will looking at the grass coverage in the offseason, cant do much about at the moment.
The draw hasn't helped with the first 5 out of 6 games at home either.

Perhaps they made a decision that the pitch was deteriorating and that it would not have held up during 1sts, hence making a logical, common sense decision.
Considering the call to play is made in the morning, could it be possible that the pitch conditions got worse throughout the day?

Seriously, get your covid vaccine. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Just heads up, be careful with sprinkler usage in summer. A local bus driver loves to dob in clubs on Myall Road for watering pitches after 10am (even if the sprinklers weren't on).

From 4th to 1st due to some conspiring antics - and fair enough. Bit of a missed opportunity though I reckon - young Will alone would have put 5 or 6 past a hapless Kotara. Bumped the GD a bit more…

Is this signs of everyone likely to be headed towards postponement or associated with these clubs specifically?

Where did these stats come from? going out on a limb to say they're incorrect..... Cooks Hill have played way more games in ZPL, they won the GF like 5 times in 6 years?

I'd also love to see a column with the $$$ spent on each 1st grade squad, in particular the $uns, I've added my own data (see above) since we're just plucking numbers our of thin air.

The fact people like you still think we have spent a single dollar on any player is the biggest compliment of all. Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
It's nice to be hated, it's nice to be jealous of and most of all, it's nice to be successful.
    All the best champion.
