I thought he’s still young enough and good enough to be valuable in NPL. Cooks Hill, Adamstown, Lakes, Valo plus a few others would be mad not to chase him. Would improve them instantly

    One, it's Kotara South.
Two, they didn't take part in the covid cup* in 2020, like dudley and Warners bay.
Prior to that, all 3 grades made the semis in 2019, 2 made the GF and 1 side won. In 2018 2 sides made semis and 1 made the GF.
Not sure if any other club has more finals games in the last 4 years.

    Uniformly poor indeed.

I'd consider not taking part in a season a poor performance. But you are right, they probably have played more finals in the last 4 years than anyone else. The fact that there have been not finals this year or last probably helped though.

    FYI people.

The Joint ZFL Panel extends its best to your Club Members and wish them the safest and best through this crazy lockdown situation.

The Joint ZFL Panel, have taken in account all the possible scenarios that had an effect on the conclusion of the ZFL season; we thank you for your patience and understanding during the on/off end to the 2021 season.

The decision is to recognise Premiers, Club Champions, Golden Boot with the outcome regards P & R that there will be no Promotion nor Relegation applied for the 2022 season, each Club will be reinstated into the Division held in 2021.
In addition we have decided to hold onto Match Bonuses for 2021 and apply and financial package that your Club would have received to the Nomination Fee for your Division in 2022; any negative gap between 2022 Fee and 2021 Bonus will be invoiced to you early next year; any positive difference will be either banked into your club nominated account or held as a credit against future invoiced costs e.g. Referee Match Fees.

The ability to either present or have awards collected is an issue at this time of lock down; we will inform you of a suitable solution once we have the Medals etc, on how to collect or we can deliver near-by to assist.

    All the best stay safe.

    Regards,

    Russell Henry
    Chief Executive Officer

Common sense prevailed here. Tough for the leaders of the divisions below but if the were going to go up and compete in ZPL there should be no dramas with them winning it next year

How so? Happy to announce premiers. Why doesn’t promotion and relegation happen.
No wonder football in Newcastle is a joke.

I agree, if your going to announce premiers then surely promotion and relegation must happen doesn't it?

Some countries such as France cancelled their 2019/2020 season due to Covid19. Teams in Ligue 1 were still promoted and relegated.

I believe some clubs will ask to be promoted or relegated. Hopefully it balances out.

Not sure it's that easy to turn up next year and simply win it?

But on the other hand, promo and relo could have gone through easily and if a club felt undeserved they would bounce back the following year.

Works both ways. Anyway, did any player lose a bunch of cash for not going up? didnt think so

worst thing is missing out on the final series. no beers, no fun

This is disgraceful considering most of the season was played, all that effort put in for nothing

I wonder what club hits you with the lawsuit first… Competition rules are clear as day, no relegation/promotion is one thing but to not hand out the payments clubs deserve is bullocks. Have fun catching your tails here

Lakes have been screwed over . All the wins, club championship and premierships in 1st grade and reserve grade. That’s a lot of prize money.

If they were going to be in ZPL and competitive they need to be winning ZL1

It's the joint Zone League panel, not solely Macquarie mate. No prize money for reserve grade either.

Probably best going through the official channel as opposed to the forum.

I wasn't solely talking about ZPL and ZL1. Minmi and Lakes would feel harshly done by, for them it's probably just a wasted year and another year to wait in trying to climb the zone league ladder.

I think they have painted themselves into a massive corner here. If you announce Premiers then the rules say Premiers are promoted. Could be an interesting few weeks/months ahead. Payments decision is poor and petty. Pay the clubs what they deserve.
