    A League Game Week Nine

Man, it is good to have a full weekend of football to look forward to again after the ‘Circuit-Breaker’, hope you all are keeping safe out there.
Back to the business of trying to predict what is going to happen this wild and wonderful league.
Tipping percentage for the season: 30.77%

    Friday (19/2)

    - Adelaide United v Central Coast Mariners (7pm AEDT) at Hindmarsh Stadium.
I just cannot, in good conscience, tip Adelaide to get anything out of a game at this moment in time, they have lost against worse teams than the coasties.
    Mariners to win, 2-0.

    Saturday (20/2)

    - Western United v Macarthur FC (5pm AEDT) at Mars Stadium, Ballarat.
The two newest teams in the A-league get their first shot at each other. Macarthur seem like they are starting to really come together as a unit, unlike Western who are looking to make changes going into this game after under-preforming so far this season.
I am going to tip Macarthur for a 3-1 win.

    - Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar (7pm AEDT) at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
Brisbane are just starting to show signs of wavering, after a draw and a loss in their last two games. Sydney will be raring to go after almost two weeks off (for the second time this season).
    Sydney to win, 2-1.

    Sunday (21/2)

    - Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets (4pm AEDT) at AAMI Park.
“‘We can still finish top four’ - Victory hierarchy backing Brebner to turn tide” (SBS - The World Game, 16/2/2021)
Ummm, from what I have seen so far this season the Melbourne Victory board are either delusional or lying. The Jets should be looking to make a statement win and extend their run of solid form.
    3-0 win to Newcastle.

    - Wellington Phoenix v Western Sydney Wanderers (6pm AEDT) at WIN Stadium.
Wellington could be in trouble for this one, the number of players out through injuries and suspensions are starting to mount up. Time should theoretically be on the side of the Wanderers, with players coming back from injury and more time for ‘him’ to make his mark on the team.
A 1-0 win to the Wanderers.

    Tuesday (23/2)

    - Melbourne City v Sydney FC (7pm AEDT) at AAMI Park.
City are on a three game losing streak and it’s going to take a solid performance to get something against the champions, Sydney will be on the short turn around.
I am going to go a 1-1 draw.

    Wednesday (24/2)

    - Melbourne Victory v Wellington Phoenix (7pm AEDT) at AAMI park.
Could this be an early battle to avoid the spoon? A midweek game against the two bottom teams, this game has 0-0 draw written all over it.

Gypos copping 3 absolutely ludicrous penalties against team. You love to see it!

    VAR proving its worth.
    Glad football has it.
Absolutely necessary piece of technology that gets all the big decisions right.

    Victory v Phoenix 🤮
What an insipid, uninspiring game of football. Archie Thompson is an embarrassment. Giggles like a little schoolgirl whilst applauding the game plan of trying to win corners so Gestede can pretend to be a pro footballer
