Interesting fact, well I think it's interesting, is we have the potential for the 1000th opponent player to make an appearance against the Jets in an A-League fixture this Thursday.

    Expanding on my earlier post:
    • 998 different players have made an A-League appearance against the Jets
    • The first player is listed as Adelaide United, and former Newcastle United, goalkeeper Daniel Beltrame.
    • The latest was Nestory Irankunda.
    • 99 players have played both for and against the Jets.
    • Most appearances against the Jets is Alex Wilkinson with 39.
    • Alex Brosque has the most goals (14 from 30 apps)
    • Vince Lia the most yellow cards (9 from 29 apps)
    • Nigel Boogaard and Steve Corica the most reds (2)
    • Hi-Five Danny Vukovic has the most clean sheets (16 from 37 apps)
    • Matt Simon the most subs appearances (16 from 30 total - he's only started 14 matches against us which caught me by surprise!)
    • Shane Smeltz has put away 5 penalties, the most of any player.
    • While Roy Krishna has missed all 3 penalties he has taken against the Jets.
    • Andrew Durante has made the most appearances as an opposition captain (29 of his 34)

Any sign of Puddle making an appearance against his favourite opposition?

An ugly win is just what we needed.

In those conditions, I'll take any win.

Our weakness remains, as it has been all year, our two central defenders. We should have kept Topor instead of Jurman to partner Elsey. Jurman just too slow. Pappas had better be trawling YouTube in preparation for next year.

This and IMO Jurman would be right up there as one of our highest wage earners also.

Topor can't play a 5 yard pass yet you think he should be in this team given the system we play **** me dead. I would still rather Jurman than Topor.

We do love a good Win in the wet against Brisbane

They probably make mistakes because they know Duncan is a mistake waiting to happen if the ball reaches him

The Roar set up in a very similar way against Western Sydney and they got the result. The midfield was crowded and they shut down our two holders and fullbacks as out-balls well.

The conditions were shocking and with our second game back, I am willing to cut a bit of slack - though like many I am having some reservations about Jurman - particularly against quick opposition.

Also, Hoff at Left back stifles us. Hope Mauragis is back in contention soon, because Murnane hasn't impressed the last two either.

I thought this too.He turned back inside so many times where in the past he was one of the players who backed himself to get forward and play aggressively.I wondered if it is how his coach wants him to play or if hes lost a step and isnt confident anymore which is understandable considering his unfortunate injury issues of late.

Credit has to be given to Jordan O’Doherty these past couple games. Dude is a great player who does everything right and I have no idea how Grozos was getting picked over him earlier in the season.

I feel like our big issue atm is that our subs don’t make enough of an impact, and possibly make the team worse. Guys like Al-Taay, Murnane and Grozos are failing to impress off the bench so hopefully with the inclusion of Regan and once guys like Goodwin, Mauragis and Arques are match fit those issues will begin to go away

Have been impressed with midfield of O’Doherty and Thurgate.
They work hard and cover for Penha’s turnovers and when he gets forward. Penha has also been impressive. Reminds me of Coutinho sometimes. Sometimes he’s a magician, but if he’s not on, he’s not on and stifles attacks with wayward shots and too many touches.
His drive, and drawing in defenders and finding an open man is going to be important.
    Beka does well.

I’m curious to see how Elsey and Jurman keep Regan from a start when he’s deemed fit. What’s up with Mauragis? Is he just not preferred or is he not fit? Wasn’t he away with australia youth and isolated to get back, and now what?
