Interesting... you would think they wouldnt advertise that unless they had a fair amount of confidence that he will play!
Well at least Dutchy is keen on this or learnt from his past mistakes:
http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/...eys-play/49371With Heskey likely to lead the Jets’ forward line throughout the 2012/13 season, van Egmond said it is important that the ex-Liverpool player receives the right type of attacking support from his teammates.
“We worked on it a little bit today, concentrating on the front third and getting players in and around the number nine,” van Egmond said.
“It’s not so much the system, but more so the reading of the game. You can play with an out and out number 10, that will give him someone next to him more consistently.
“If you play with two number 8’s, either one of those players can start to get tighter (with Heskey) or even one or two of the wide players.”
Van Egmond said the other forwards in the Jets squad would benefit greatly from playing alongside Heskey.
“It’s just about making sure that we have players in and around him that he can bounce things off and play one or two touch football with,” he said.
Hmmm when super mario was here he did everything he possibly could to isolate the man and make him look like a fool rather than "making sure that we have players in and around him that he can bounce things off". So either Dutchy has learnt something from the past or isn't determined to make this fail. Either way at least that is a positive.
He'skey to the way we are going to play.
This, plus it would be another great way to get publicity for the club, player and the Newcastle area.
Will definitely be coming down for the day to welcome him to the club. I just hope that the club has actually got something planned out which they can inform us and the general public withiin the next 2 days.
Would love for them to chopper him in with a huge banner of the photo of heskey in his jersey with some slogan bagging out bling and the scum hanging below- hover it over their stadiums and training grounds. Probably not realistic but would be great to see and provide some awesome publicity.
No 9 jersey sold out in 26s. 5000 more on order. Must be a big crewe of Heskey's Ho's forming.
