First England, now Sth Africa Clarke has got involved and faught with the opposition and stood up for his team. He had never really done that before. I don't think its a coincidence that we are now winning, we have that fighting spirit again!

Congrats Marcus, on a great domestic career.... shame those selectors didn't give you much of a run for the national team!

Sorry boys but didn't want Robert Dillon reading the foz and stealing my shit.
Do you think that if I hang around the sheds long enough Management will offer me a role in the emerging Jets too? I heard that's where all old timers go to die.

Now you've retired Marcus, I'm looking forward to you spending more time on the foz. Still playing some grade cricket next season?

Yeh, gotta feel for him. Terrible terrible circumstances for everyone involved. It seems he is being well supported though, so hopefully that is the case and he can come to recognise it was a terrible terrible accident.

    sad for his family.

so is it manslaughter? i mean the bloke did bowl a ball at 140 plus km/h at the blokes face.

if i threw the equivolent ball at someone with the intention to intimidate, i'd expect to be charged. does a the fact that it happened on a sporting field between consenting adults change matters?

In short - it's not. Same for footballers, boxers etc etc - it's sport.

    man this sucks ay

got me all sorts of turned up really, how shit is it that a bloke goes out doing something that he loves and tons of blokes would give their right arm to do, and gets hit in the noggin and deadset dies without being able to talk to his family or his mates or anyone else.

just really, really sad. honestly have not been this bummed in ages.

RIP phil, keep playing that sublime cut shot up in heaven pal.

This statement played out in courts all day everwhere.

Imagine going out to face a quicky this weekend, fk that, steps on stumps.

Absolute shock, such a down to earth honest bloke who worked harder than most to become the best. No intentions of becoming a coach or anything after cricket, just wanted to run the family farm and keep producing more cattle.

Honestly just last week I was saying how I never needed to wear a helmet, so glad I bought one now.

What becomes of the bouncer now? Will it become frowned upon or completely outlawed?

be interesting to see the reaction of the crowd in the first test when the first bouncer goes down (and i think they will play)

lets get real here though, how many bouncers get bowled without people getting injured? squillions

australia won the last ashes through mitch johnson bowling beamers pretty much - you can't ban it, it's a legitimate ball to bowl, and it's a great leveller. an average team with a great fast bowler who can get sides back in the game makes the game interesting. imagine if cricket was heinous a subcontinental dustbowl spin dictated borefest (oh wait)

didn't richie richardson say he was against banning the bouncer because it would take away his best scoring shot?
