Yep I was at the game and it was a good game of football but the ground was bumpy. But what ground isn’t ATM?

Our councils are pussys. Either improve the grounds or play on them like everyone around the world did.

And Northern is a money hog, mid week 2 games a night on both fields with no charge to the clubs. Solved

Newcastle Football spent $1m on an office they didn't need. An artificial pitch at Stevenson Park would have been a better investment for community football. Northern spent a couple of $m on new offices and facilities that they could have done without. Another artificial pitch for Lake Mac clubs, perhaps a better spend?. Newcastle Council spend $5m on No 1 to host one Big Bash game per year and an AFL preseason game. Representative of two sports that have participation rates in single figures. Grounds are rubbish because those in charge let it happen. Clubs do their best but volunteers can only do so much. Shame on those tasked with leading the game, they should be pursuing the best interest of football with Local Government and spending member money properly.

Valo deserved it, probably could have made an argument for deserving at least one pen as well.

Note with interest clubs & Nnsw meeting this week to discuss plans for remainder of season ? It is a farce as in Nnsw football administration most of the time but the current plan is not viable within a competition the U18’s are not replaying games and get a 1 pt but teams WHO DO play get a clear advantage which makes the comp table a joke ! Suggest we abandon finals top 5 ( as it will be a false representation) and let’s have a knockout cup with teams from NL1 ( top 5 after rd 1) making a 16 team knockout over 3-4 weeks with the final played on 1st grade GF day, stop treating the U18’s with contempt -the boys are the future of our game yet are becoming despondent and will find ‘other things ‘ to do & leave the game
Step up be pro active, it should be about playing football for development not a false finals table.

I see that Adamstown have moved their catch up game with Maitland to Speers Point at 8pm on Wednesday night. Perhaps a few more clubs should look at this option especially the Jaffas who now have 5 catch up games

    Jaffas 2 Magic 1
    Edgeworth 4 Azzurri 2
    Maitland 5 Adamstown 3
The premiership is Jaffas to lose from here after beating Magic,I think the only thing that might stop them is their schedule.
Azzurri lose their first game of the year but have also had 5 draws, big result for Edgeworths top 5 hopes .
Maitland win their first game in 3 weeks but play Azzurri this weekend, the loser is out of the title race
