    ALM 22/23 Round 1 - Mariners v Jets - 1700 8/10/22

Hoping somebody breaks the hand of "cumdog" so he can never do that joker celebration again.

I've got some real dislike of the mariners back again - good signs.

Looking at the pitch the game may not even go ahead. 45 minute delay to the start.

So is this correct. Inform me if not. 45 minute delay. Then inspect the field. Just to get the Gosford sewerage to drain from the pitch. 10 minutes left I guess.

I've had the same relayed to me Chook.

If that was a local NPL game, the refs would be playing together at Warhammer or Good Games Newcastle already.

Due to extreme weather, today's fixture between Central Coast Mariners & Newcastle Jets has been officially postponed to a later date.

Silver lining - at least there will be a bit of a chance to build some hype around the rescheduled match. Not a fan of starting the season with this match.

    + 1

    I abhor it.

    "Boring, boring A-League."

And I'll ad that ridiculous draw they've been coming up with.

3 years of a first round F3 derby is laughably poor. Why waste it all early? People are always excited for the first round, waste all your nothing fixtures, or even the distance derby, when everyone is rusty and then trickle a derby each week until you can have some top 6 clashes towards the end to keep people interested. The idiots in charge are such amateurs in everything they do.

This this my goto page for short term forecasts.
It's gonna get noisy in the middle of the night. I'll need earplugs at my place with a color bond roof!

No surprise it didn't drain off. Water tends to pool at the bottom of a hole.

The drainage on that ground is disgraceful

When got to the ground there wasn't a puddle on it

    Why exactly wasn't it draining

FFS at 2:45 I was on a golf course in Newy with no rain

Never in a million years was I expecting not to see the game today until about 4:45pm when it became apparent that the pitch wouldn't drain

It's the same for both teams and usually turns out to be a good game

I joked with a mate who told me about the 45minutes delay. I replied "45min? They'll need a week!"
Jump on BOM 128km RADAR for Newy now. It covers Crowdy Head to Hornsby.
No way on Griff's green earth that game was going ahead.

Oh well, nice to drive down, get soaked walking to the ground to see a swimming hole, have a couple of beers and go back home.

Very odd it stayed that flooded as the rain eased considerably. Kudos to players for coming over to join in a singalong and even have a kickabout whilst Scum ran to the sheds after a brief wave.

So funny that Simon had his farewell in front of a dozen fans. Memories of Josh Rose.
