Better - Screaming Jets, Newcastle on every level!
After the A-League announced this week they are allowing the Clubs to choose their walk-out songs on match day, the Newcastle Jets put a poll on their Facebook to ask what Members and fans wanted to hear.
The overwhelming response was INXS’s Never Tear Us Apart; of the 531 votes, 343 of them were for the former walk out song.
@joshcleary said, “Seriously? A vote? There's only 1 song,” in reference to Never Tear Us Apart while @rawprawn25 said "some parts of Newy Jets heritage should not be changed #ntua".
Before the poll even commenced, @Thompson_MAC said, "Now the A-League clubs are allowed to play their own walk out music, will we now be hearing "never tear us apart" again?”
The Members and supporters have spoken and the Jets will walk out to Never Tear Us Apart this Sunday at Hunter Stadium.
"It is great we can give the Members and supporters an opportunity to choose this week's walk out song and we are sure it will set the stage for a memorable occasion on Sunday," CEO Robbie Middbley said.
In a first at Hunter Stadium, a stage will be set up above the tunnel so the band Sunday's Record will play the song as the team walks out.
Did you know the Jets players have also chosen their own goal scoring song? To find out more
they'd better just play it straight, no warbling, no holding onto notes, no key changes, nothing but the original. last thing we want is it to turn into various renditions of the national anthem.

NTUA will win again next week so who cares!!!
Aarron Kearney covered NTUA this morning when interviewing Middleby, saying that is was the "fans anthem" and it has a "mythical connection for the fans and the club" and that it proved to be true during the Tinkler licence dummy spit.
Don't think it went really well having it played as a walk out song. Some were singing NTUA, some were clapping, some were cheering. Seemed to lose the impetus that could be generated from it.
Play it 5 mins before kick off. Then silence from the PA as the teams come out
lol the band, so terrible
