You'd think it would drain well considering it's on the side of a hill with one side a good foot higher than the other.

You're not wrong, all the water builds up around the cricket pitch between the fields since the new turf got laid unfortunately.

Seems to me Uni could have a stronger first grade.
There’s quite a few in there res. and thirds that
look sharper than some in firsts.

Is regularly the case with Uni. Not sure why, however they often seem to produce significantly stronger lower grades.

Played them a few years back and it was the same case. Happy to stack lower grades and be mediocre in first grade... At least other clubs wait for first grade to be out of contention!

i dont think ive ever played against uni before where firsts has been better than reserve grade. Not even a few players, i reckon most years you could totally flip both squads and their reserve grade would finish higher. Always baffled me, especially the relegation seasons. I tihnk ive seen a few of their longer term players coaching the lower grades so maybe that has something to do with it.

Suns 5-0 could easily have been double figures but for a brilliant display from the Blue’s keeper.

    Cardiff vs Mayfield

    1st 1 - 4 Mayfield
    Res 3 - 1 Cardiff
    3rds 0 - 2 Mayfield

Cardiff are gonna challenge teams this year. I know 4 - 1 is a solid score line but Cardiff were up 1- 0 for 70 minutes and fell off. Massive improvement from the Swansea game a few weeks ago. (Tbf both teams were bad Cardiff vs Swansea)
