I think if you ask the strong clubs in the leagues above I think you might find a different answer

As far as club championship goes, third grade doesn't have a massive bearing.
A club could finish top 2 in firsts and ressies, third grade could be last and still likely be club champions. One draw in firsts is as good as two wins in thirds...
Points are distributed as follows;
First grade win 8 pts, draw 4
Ressies 4 and 2
Thirds 2 and 1

It probably depends on each club and their individual perspective.
Some clubs only care about 1st grade, some clubs focus on club culture and support for all 3 grades.
For us at New Lambton we have always wanted to look at the 3 grades, so while we don't have an emphasis on the Club Championship we would like every player in our 3 grades to feel like an important part of our club (because we believe they are).
