If Papas gets suspended this competition has become a joke. If an official can say ?that is what I thought he said, being some distance away (without 100% certainty) and with witnesses confirming it was not said. This should be squashed straight away to allow him to play. I do not support official abuse but this has become ridiculous and ruining the game.
Well I hope commonsense prevails and it is appealed and overturned.
He said she said sort of situation, but if there is witnesses I?m sure that will play a part if the Linesmen ?thought? he said something that he didn?t say.
Going off the track record I think northern back their referees to the hill. Be interesting what unfolds if they do challenge it
Dino Faj didn't get off with witness statements
Ha ha what is the delusion? The linesman has reported something that was not said and what he thought he heard from 10-15 meters away. There are witnesses willing to support what was clearly said including Magic supporters from what I have heard. Officials make errors also they are only human. Players should have rights too. He was not sent for swearing but calling an official a name which did not happen by account from people there that witnessed it. If every player was sent for swearing there would be 10-15 players sent off every game. 6 weeks really!
Don?t disagree with that at all, but if players are getting accused of saying something that they apparently didn?t say all because the linesmen ?thought? that?s what he heard not ?what? he heard then there needs to be fair justice.
In a court of law you can?t charge someone because it was ?thought? they had said or did something.
That?s the difference in this situation if the facts are true that have been stated.
As an extension, to avoid misunderstandings, don't swear at others/at all on the pitch? You don't keep your job if you disagree with someone and call them an expletive, how about transferring that to football? Take kids to to senior matches and they hear all the unnecessary language shouted, think it's part of the game and then this transfers down to youth football and things start to fester.
