Either be the best thing for the club or the worst decision ever made. In saying all that good on the club for giving someone different a go rather than the usual merry-go-round.

Papas ban downgraded to 2 games
Hopefully the officials take the other 4 games and have a rest

This zero tolerance campaign is not working when player after player appeal and get off, the match officials need support not humiliation

This is the first successful appeal of ?match offical abuse? since they have brought in the zero tolerance policy?

What about pre zero tolerance policy. Kale Bradberry getting off last year was an absolute joke and guess what, it’s another mystery independent witness that has come forward to save Jaffas. Whatever happened to the respect referees campaign, certainly no respect shown by Pappas and not to signal Reece out it’s across the whole competition. Let’s start respecting referees decisions and back them.

From my understanding there was 4 neutral witnesses come forward.

Pappas has been handed a 2 game suspension for offensive language for using the word f**k which is a different offence to match offical abuse which is under the zero tolerance policy. Jaffas have appealed that the linesmen has misheard what he said. Downgrading from abuse to offensive language which clearly they have proven beyond reasonable doubt with the cooperation of the referees involved as they are involved in the appeal process.

And every time a ref sends off a player as part of Zero tolerance the witnesses will emerge, Fed have set a precedent now, so much for supporting officials

That would be the sum of all the neutral spectators at the game.

Would be curious to find out how one is determined to be a "neutral witness"? Given they need to be unaligned to a club and yet also care enough about a player of said club to send in a statement/appear at a disciplinary hearing.

Spot on second class, it?s all garbage, no such thing as a neutral other than the lady walking her dog outside the fence

At the end of the day, the “Northern NSW Football Sometimes Tolerance Policy” has been an abject failure from the start.
Within the last couple of months we have seen:
    * A Magic player suspended, then (quite rightly) exonerated for murdering a referee/putting hands on a referee to mitigate potential injury to both parties
    * A rosebuds player hit for six for bantering with the Maitland bench, followed by said bench ratting him out to the linesman
    * A rosebud coach not even facing examination by the powers that be for 90 mins + of disgraceful abuse towards match officials which was clearly audible on not one, but two bartv broadcasts from lmrff.
    * A Jaffas player exonerated on the basis of statements of 4 blokes on the tins on the hill who are adamant the player said “I was ****ing kicked” as opposed to saying the ref was “a ****ing prick”, which, in contexts, both statements would come under the guise of referee abuse

I honestly don’t think the referees know what constitutes abuse, or how to handle it. Further, I don’t think Northern have figured out a framework for identifying & managing match day incidents. Bartv is filming every NPL first & reserve grade game. High time northern review the footage.

It's been an abject failure because Northern are happy to go after kids and players from lesser clubs, but afraid to hold the bigger clubs and players to account. Should point out that the rosebuds player at his hearing had the Maitland coach and 2 players on the bench put in statements to defend the player as well.

Wasn’t aware of that part. Makes the Sometimes Tolerance Policy look even worse if that’s the case.
