Fair play to them, let's hope they don't come unstuck with the ruling in place for this
I go and watch most weeks and have missed maybe 6 games all year but first grade always have 3-4 fresh players on the bench. If you?re not in the first 15 are you meant to miss out. That?s just having a strong club if you have 15-18 players that are up to playing first grade and other clubs see as first graders

Dudley could merge with the junior club also
With the current setup, Toronto teams only had 4 games where the score difference was 5 or more during the second phase. 2 of them was Toronto winning by 5 or more. Hardly being flogged every week.

Same as Kotara. Their first grade are still in the hunt for finals so why would they purposely jeopardise it. Mayfield firsts have been average all season so unless they have been stacking right from the start I dont see any issue there either.

I know there was talk of Uni playing first graders against the Suns in a midweek third grade fixture earlier in the season (which ironically ended up costing Suns a premiership). However Kicktheball has provided 3 poor examples here.

Edit: I see Suns are playing Uni in the thirds major semi final this weekend which should be interesting.

Hope everyone has their player quals in order, no more dropping back a grade to sit on the bench, if you don't have the games, you can't play...this will cause some issues for some clubs.

yep and they are a little confusing, but in the end is as follows i believe.

EX: jimmy plays 10 games in reggies, plays 9 games in 1st he is eligible for reggies but can play higher.
pauly plays 5 games in 3rds, 4 games in reggies and 2 games in 1st, he is 3rd grader, but can play higher.

It gets little more complex when you break down more scenarios that can arise.

Also, as 3rds in our comp don't really have starting 11 in squaddie, the whole 16 on the sheet count as 3rd grade, this will be cancelled out if you start a higher grade on that day.
This also applies to if you start or bench a lower grade, then start higher, the higher one is counted for the day.

There is no more being a 1st grader or Reserve grader and dropping down a grade to sit on the bench as previous years to play in the finals.

There is a section within Squaddie your club admin can look it up. If anyone needs to know how to access, PM me and i send how to do it.

To make it simple . The grade a Player has started the highest percentage of their Matches in is the lowest grade in which they are eligible to participate in the Final Series.

So if a player started 15 1st grade games but also started 12 reserves grade games then he is only eligible for 1st. If a player started in both equal than the lowest one counts.

The other rule is that players are only allowed to start in one Final per weekend regardless of what grades they are eligible for.

Taffy, need to drop the percentages, in squaddie you need to look at the started column, % is skewed towards games participated in, not games started.

So hypothetically if you played the first say 10 games in firsts then get dropped and play the last 9 in ressies. Your aren?t qualified to play ressies?
That?s Newcastle football for you 🤦🏼*♂️

ok So John plays 6 games in thirds, 9 games in ressies and 4 Games in 1sts. Can John sit on the bench for thirds? Or is a case of your primary grade is the lowest you can play in at all?

I copied and pasted the actual rules which says percentage, and they count games started as the game they played in.

Reserves is the lowest grade, however, can play 1sts. But can't start in both on game day.
