I agree with you about the CB status, Mark.

I also don't get Max Burgess link, unless something is happening with Adams

Burgess is incredibly inconsistent. Capable of very good performances but unfortunately few and far between. That being said we are sure to sign him.

And even if Taylor goes, there was great excitement over Oscar Fryer (noted this was the previous coach's team and signing). Burgess was most effective on the left and Fryer coming back from and ACL....if Taylor is sold or released I can see Burgess fitting there.

But not as a marquee, as many have said. No way.

The overseas CB is interesting and I wonder what that hold for the future of Cancar, Susnjar and Natta. A large chunk of cap (assumed) on 4 CB's that would likely start at many mid-to-lower A-League clubs is interesting. You think one would be on their way.

Burgess was really good at Wellington and should never have gone to Sydney.

He'd be an upgrade for us if he recaptured the Nix form but screw that paying good money for a bloke looking for a rehab start.

Player departure announcements - Dane Ingham, Ryan Scott, Matt Scarcella, Justin Vidić, Wellissol, Callum Timmins, Jacob Dowse, Charles M’Mombwa and Zac Bowling.

Side note, I was asked to help the club with forming the details around each player. I did have their cap numbers in there to make it a bit more personalised but still, nice to see they've included some key details for those who have been around for a while.

A little bummed about M'Mombwa, brought something different to the game but I can see why that wouldn't be every coaches preference. Also it's a very nice touch JP, hope the club want to keep it around in future.

Its also a bit of a bummer to have yet another rebuild season, the new owners really need to look at maintaining some sustainability with future seasons and minimising these huge player exodudes that feel so common with every Jets offseason

I offer every year to provide that information - this year they've taken me up on the offer which is nice.

I'm not seeing such a rebuild this season. Only Timmins is departing from the First XI and honestly there's plenty of players that offer what he does.

It's a chance to build squad depth, I think

You make some good points, every year is a rebuild. Been like that for most years in the Jets history. Culture is so important, So is stability.

Liverpool only bought in Chiesa this year who hardly played, Pretty much same squad. It worked for them.

The great Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea teams all maintained stability. I get the A League is a selling League but the Jets aren't loosing too many there. It's all been releasing players.

It was time Ingham went, Scott for mine makes sense as long as a decent No2 keeper is recruited. Sounds like Timmins took an offer from Perth which is fair enough. But I don't get not signing Charles M'Mombwa at all. I thought he was a great addition, I thought he couldn't have done any more in his stint. He added so much effort and energy in the midfield.

What is interesting is that Mark Milligan played alot with Gui Finkler at Victory. Finkler is now a player agent, worth a call I reckon.
