General A League and other games thread 2024/2025

New referees boss says new rules will improve the comp, let's hope so. They include more robust tackles, only captain can approach the ref, non deliberate handball will be yellow instead of red. Faghani must have missed the memo, some terrible decisions last night.

Agree that there should’ve been a pen for victory just before the first var incident. That red I don’t blame him as from his angle he probably didn’t see the leg bent and only saw Geria lunge in, and the Miranda red was a red every day of the week.

You can't give a red if you can't see it, luckily the best ref was in the VAR. The Victory pen was a joke and I think the VAR didn't want to call him out a second time, and therein lies the problem

I thought Macarthur was the team that had the players paid to throw a game. They stink in a very suspicious way and I've seen more realistic action in WWE. (For any Perth lawyers out there - I'm joking)

Still very concerned at how this draw is set up. Has any reason been given to why it is like it is? Basically these days football bosses say "like it or lump it".

Next game at home not until 7th December, two byes by years end, and a "home" game made neutral by moving it to Sydney on a Friday night. And the home game after Adelaide is another four weeks later.

By the time we get to the Adelaide home game we could be well adrift - hopefully pick up at least one win and a draw or two. Lose against Adelaide and we might already be gone.

All well and good saying we have a great run of 10 games in the new year but I would rather have the points in the bank (assuming we would do better at home).

If watching a bunch of 40-50 year olds running around is your thing, there's an exhibition match between Tim Cahill 11 versus Ronaldinho 11 on channel 10 at the same time as the Friday night game

must be where all the fans that would normally go to a brisbane game have gone.

I still haven't seen a fan in the stands.

Yeah was like a ghost town last night, there was talk of putting everyone on the other side in future and I think that's the way to go, for the night games anyway. Don't know what the orientation is for afternoon summer games

Nathaniel Atkinson's mates need to have a word.

If in doubt, they should find Angus Thurgates mates and get advice how to have the conversation.

The APL held their AGM last week & nobody knew!
3 board members ?re-elected? (seemingly unopposed)?on the back of two calamitous years.
No financial details disclosed?no strategy announced?
