I think people were predicting a bottom 3 finish because the season prior you finished bottom of the pile and by a stroke of luck managed to stay in the division.
You appear to have spent your way out of trouble though so credit to you. Will be interesting to see if some of the other clubs where the players actually play for the badge and not for their pay checks are able to keep up with you across the season.
Yes, you are correct, we spent a little last year, had to, to survive in the end.
This year is a very different scenario, players are returning for various reasons and regos is once again the normal way of doing things, mostly.
There are other clubs in ZL that spend and/or spent way more than Cardiff will ever or have ever payed out, there are some that will not spend much and/or nothing at all, that is the nature of the beast, that this comp is becoming.
Every year the same shit comes up, either it was the Suns, Dudley, Croatia spending shitloads each week or paying regos only, all speculation by the way, but it is what it is in the end, clubs will do what they have to.
So, to all those who want to speculate if we are "throwing cash around" the answer is no.

I don’t know why members from clubs get so offended when it’s pointed out that they have obviously spent money to acquire players? For better or worse it’s just the way the league is these days.
I suppose everyone still loves the narrative of a group of mates just going out there purely for the love of the game and no financial incentives and knocking over the wealthy more fancied teams and go on to win the competition.
Credit to the Uni lads last year who did beat quite a few of those teams in their great run. Correct me if I’m wrong but Cardiffs highest paid player probably got paid more in a week than that Uni squad combined financially received over the course of an entire season.

Both sides had 1st players missing, score blew out, maybe in the end 6-1, it was a lot hotter than expected.
Minmi will be a lot better this year, than last i think, showed some good signs through the game..
