Maurice in the lefty newspaper said there would be no bandaid solution and looking at long term solutions. It's much easier to lose members than to get them back. Get it done now Maurice, repay the faithful
I notice the SFC Facey page tonight is rocking with abuse and calling for sackings. Nobody banned so far.....

January transfer window is an interesting one. For Perth they are overhauling their squad. West sydney have added some handy players.
Jets definitely need 2 players I reckon. Maurice is after long term solutions, I like his thinking. But January window is not the best window for long term solutions. Big question is who is available? Near impossible to get too many players from Europe atm, real options there are either free agents or getting someone released that isn't currently getting a run. There probably isn't the pool of players there for long term solutions. Long term contract is way too risky on a free agent or someone not getting a run.
Asian and MLS definitely have players available as both areas are out of competition atm. Worth looking at for sure. But is the 34 year old Japanese player linked considered long term? Most would say no, but maybe Japanese players are extremely fit and can play on well it to their 30's. Personally I would look elsewhere.
The ex Macarthur player is interesting, But is he a second best option? If his form was that good wouldn't Macarthur have resigned him considering they had a turnover of players last year especially in midfield.
Could give an opportunity to an NPL player, all of them are back in pre season. The NSW and Victorian NPL have some really good players that could do a job.
For mine, there is plenty to play for this year. But finals are definitely slipping away, far too many losses. A couple of players that could be long term options is the way to go. But whatever way you go it's risky, no matter what.
No that was me thinking out loud JP, he said the first bit. If they keep putting this team on the field unchanged, I don't know why anyone would go watch, and I certainly wouldn't waste money getting a membership. It sounds like Maurice has written this year off already

Haha, that is incredibly true. I was all "Save the Whale", "No Dams" and "Libs are Toffs" when I was young. Voted ALP excusively.
All changes once you see how repetitive it all is.
Question is are the finals a realistic target? Sydney fc in 6th at the moment, 11 points in front of the Jets but they have played 2 more games then us.
This weekends game vs Perth is nearly a must win, it would be good to have couple of new signings on the bench for a cameo.
The Jets have become a team that unfortunately have been making up the numbers for some years now.
For this to change its really going to require at least 3 gun players to come along at once. At the moment we probably don't have one, Although one or two could potentially be in the squad. Stama was one, that's the sort of quality you need times three.
Phil Cancar (ankle) and Eli Adams (knee) are chances to return against Perth, who are coming off a bye.
Stanton also hopes to have a couple of other fresh faces to consider.
Former Macarthur midfielder Charles M'Mombwa, 26, is training with the Jets and is likely to be signed for the remainder of the season.
The Jets are also close to finalising a deal with Japanese international Kota Mizunuma.
Added the whole quote but I find it interesting that in the most recent Herald article it mentions Charles as signing for the remainder of the season, which seems to fly in the face of what he's said prior. Would have hoped we would have signed Kota officially by now, desperately need him in the squad as soon as possible
Will be good to have Cancar and Adams as potential options again
The Japanese deal is subject to a medical.
