Stanton has copped plenty of criticism, but there are some signs that the the project is gaining momentum. The additions this year have been excellent in Kota, Rose, Charles and Susnjar. I realise Susnjar has been injured for a while but he was good before his injury.

For me, behind the gypos, it's WSW and Sydney for me... followed by Victory

I agree. The system looks to be working a lot better lately. The forward movement looks a lot more purposeful.

Great to get the win, but I think we also got lucky. Goodwin should have nailed one in the first half, and I reckon there were a few more that were pretty good chances for Adelaide.

I don't think the ref had a great game. Not sure how he didn't pull up the back pass in the second half. A fair few other dubious calls for both teams.

We've got the chance to make it three wins in a row - and if successful it will be the first time since the Grand Final year.

Despite a poor record against the Roar at home, despite winning our last 3 against them, it's a must win game this Friday. Lose and the work to win against Adelaide will be for nothing.

We're closer to the Top 6 (7 points) than we are to the team behind us (8 points)

That stat really makes the Perth and Sydney draws sting all the more, the difference of being three wins away from top 6 vs. one with a game in hand that not every team above us has.

Bit of friction behind closed doors according to Tele article. Someone from management has been giving unwanted advice to the coaching staff on tactics, recruitment, and team selection. Assistant coach leaving at seasons end, possibly DOF also, and maybe Stanton too. Hope it doesn't derail the rest of the season

Interesting if true. Stanton was poised to sign an extension to his contract but now it's all gone silent.

    Who is our current DoF?

If that dont work, this is the Jets bit

That?s despite a leading club official trying to influence the Jets? football department with unwanted advice about tactics, recruitment and team selection.

On The Attack last week revealed the internal problems that are threatening to derail the progress Newcastle seems to be making.

It?s understood that the situation has led to Jets assistant coach Damir Prodanovic telling the club he is leaving at the end of the season, while Newcastle?s general manager of football Ken Schembri is also losing patience because of the interference.

Should Schembri also leave, it will further isolate Stanton, and there are sources suggesting that he too might decide to part ways with the club at the end of the Jets? 2024-25 campaign if the situation doesn?t change.

It would be a shame if that were to happen, with the Jets having seemingly turned a corner in recent weeks under Stanton, who has brought the best out of in-form forward Lachie Rose.

The recent recruitment of classy Japanese attacking weapon Kota Mizunuma has also paid dividends for a Jets side that has shown it can hurt teams from anywhere on the park.

From a telegraph article. Hopefully not true

    Thanks Stanny, yes, it worked.

Question is who is the "leading club official" that is intervening. I think many will have their suspicions.
