Unfortunately, it's always a slow/expensive transfer window when the World Cup is on.

I keep hearing that we have activated Carlos Vela buy back clause for 3.3 million.. he and Campbell into the first team could be OK. If no one else is available. I don't to want us to overpay on a Torres/Carroll type situation.

Vela has been doing really well in Spain and hes a good player to have but I'm afraid he isn't World Class, Benzema or Cavani quality

Vela may be hesitant to return to us due to how we treated him last time round in terms of game time. In saying that, after the mini saga we went through for so many years to actually sign him it'd be lovely for that to pay off in a big way.

But with theo back, gnabry on the rise, the intent to sign a 20m+ striker, I can't see him getting a lot of action for us. 3-4m to sign him and eventually sell him for 10+ would be some nice trading though!

Agree with the view that Vela would be hesitant. Pretty sure he was quoted as saying he would never return to Arsenal earlier this season. Though as we all know, it's hard to know what to believe what we hear in the media, especially coming from Spain.
