Yeh think so mate. They are a young side with one or two old heads. As I said today we were clinical and one of the best we've played in an attacking sense and passing game. They will be hard to handle if they hit the lead at any point and probably a bit like us when we first entered the comp and could do with a little bit more depth. But that's for the toronto boys to tell ya

yeah I saw them in preseason (although they had a few good recruits I'm led to believe didn't end up signing for them). depth seems like their big worry, hence why I'm thinking they may have had some guys out.

Yeh dunno I'm pretty sure they didn't have anyone backup other then some subs. There a good side and my prediction would be mid table. They'll upset some people although could do with maybe a few mids or something

No excuses boys, Stockton was awesome, def team to beat, and as previously said very very clinical, at 2-0 down young Taylor hitting the post from a cracker outside the eighteen could have changed the game a little , but toronto going to the sheds 3-0 down was always going to be hard , stags coach had to play three at the back understandably In the second half and paid the price to go 3-2 down in the second half , as I said no excuses , Stockton were the better team and deserved the win , maybe not 6-2 but the boys will learn from it. Referee and linesman ( 1 x 14 ) done an excellent Job ) well done stocko .....

6-2 result was outstanding. Would have liked to get a clean sheet out of it but they worked a pretty nice goal that took us by surprise. We were very clinical with the ball, some of the best teams goal you will see and I'm pretty sure Toronto would agree. A bit early to say we are the team to beat though champ! I'm just very happy about the way we are playing and using our talents to the full potential. It's pretty humbling to be able to lead out such a special bunch of guys. Looking forward to seeing what cooks hill can bring to shark park. Well done stocko and thanks for Toronto for being great sports

    Toronto Awaba v Hunter Simba.
    Stephenson Park, Mayfield.
    Tonight
    Reserves 6.30pm
    Firsts 8.00pm

Hope the boys put in a good one tonight, pretty important game already, especially getting our first loss against Stockton, will be good test to see how the boys bounce back.

Most important question though........ will there be a bar operating ?

Don't think mayf have a licence mate but not sure. Always interesting to see which simba show up. They are a team of individuals with loads of athleticism. Them playing as a team is the biggest issue and not being intimidated. They all try and beat the first man before passing it so just a little tip. They never fair too well in catch up games so see how yas go. Good luck

We showed we can be strong even with some players missing on the weekend. But it's a huge up hill battle this weekend, with 3 very key players out plus a few others.
Depth is there, but a very tough task unfortunately this weekend for us.

Yeah but the boys went and watched that game coz we were on sunday and they said both teams struggled. I played ZPL last year so I don't know much about simba, apparently it depends which team turns up!
I think they would beat Toronto though.

One of the most comical nights of football i have ever seen, that simba team are funny, some of the antics they carried on with was worth the trip to Mayfield.

If they ( simba ) werent caught offside 50 times in both grades ill walk backwards to china, red card in first grade from silly arguing with the ref to the point of half the team had to escort him off the field, some awesome goal celebrations... the night was a laugh.

Toronto grabbed a late equaliser in reserves, the wind had alot to do with both grades, and running downhill towards industrial highway , simba reserves led 2-0 in ressies running that way, only for toronto to claw it back with the wind in the second half.

First grade was similar, with Simba leading 2-0 at half time , only for toronto to claw one back with 20 to go, where i thought we would overun them, but they scored one on the break from a chip 25yards out, which killed us off.

Missing a few first graders due to avo shift commitments, so look forward to round 2 at finnan.

The boys are pretty funny like that. They play with their heart on their sleeve. They love a good argument when they're offside. Even though they may as well been standing next to the keeper yelling "kick me the ball"

Thats it, the boys can play football, especially first grade, but geez if they ever learn what offside means, theyll do some damage.....

Some of the famous quotes heard from the sideline, in their simba accent

" Ha Ha Ha ......... hes old hes old "
" I am the coach, you shutup "
" Would you like another beer big boy "

    Hilarious to watch.

Last year the biggest guy on their team told me he'll shoot my mother. My response was that if he ever met her that she'd talk so much he'd wanna shoot himself!

I actually wasnt in need of one mate as i had just cracked one , standing on the side of industrial highway, watching the comedy show, the comment was aimed at a certain individual whos half brother is actually playing for the mighty kingfishers.

Hahahaha Poor bloke.. Always a favourite for the crowd. Swan-neck and Billy were "cheering" him on quite a bit down at Dozza for Macca's memorial game..
