Two away trips to Perth in the space of 6 weeks? Great for me, not so good for the team...

Really hope we get off to a great start, should get great support to the first 6 out of 7 rounds with home + NSW away games and good results

Nice work boz. Only four Sunday fixtures and two are at home. A change from the days of sweltering in the Eastern stand on Sunday afternoon/evenings.

I've also put the draw into the Calendar on the forum - just click on the "Forum" button up the top (next to "What's New?"), then Calendar and you'll find all the fixtures

I'm not sure how many other formats I can put the draw into - I'm considering a Stonehenge style sundial thingy on the unused courts at the tenzo but it might be difficult with the winter solstice already gone and the summer one not occurring until we play Sydney at home

Not in the news yet, but i have information confirming the second trial will be against University ZPL. What i sure hope is the start of an annual 'Ray Watt Darby'.

Q Man maybe these two trials are favours returned to Plattsburg and Uni clubs.???

After all the Jets train at Ray Watt and them being there at times may cause issues for Uni and them running their club as they see fit.

Also from what i am aware the Emerging Jets have been training at times at Plattsburg as the Jets don't have a ground of their own for their junior teams.

Maybe a bit of buttering up the people for their hospitality.

    wait, what?

what happened to the overseas trip and harder preseason opposition etc? i hardly think the 6aside tourny can be considered a serious preseason effort.

jerks usually walk over state league clubs, the only time the games are remotely close are against magic or the select. they walked over weston by 7 or so a year or two ago. what exactly do they have to gain by not only skipping nbn teams, but also skipping the "premier" competition of newfm aswell, to face zpl teams?

incase they haven't noticed - their youth team compete in nbn. they're better off facing their youth team multiple times than facing teams from comps that NNSW doesn't want anything to do with (aka the zone league comps).

    dafuq is actually happening

edit: if it's to "return the favour" maybe they should at least host the nbn select game at plattsy/uni so those clubs get the money from canteen/etc. nothing will be gained from playing those clubs, unless it's a glorified shooting and constant possession practice (which they nearly get vs nbn teams anyway)

come on guys, GVE said we're having a slow build up in the teams we play, going from the easy beats (for a professional a-league team) to the truly tough harder-to-beats (for a professional a-league team) of the NNSW top flight.

this will fill GVE with a belief that we are doing alright and that we'll be up there for championship/premiership double provided we don't get injuries, have to travel, have to play at home, have to play three games in a week, have any players called up to the national teams or have bad referreeing.

    we're a shoe in.

Agree with all of that bar one small piece, our club lacks any and all ambition, we don't aim to be in the top 2 let alone to win the championship, we aim to not finish in the bottom 40% of our leg, that is all.

Lets not forget the mud GVE was pretty quick to throw Branko's way when he first came back for the very same type of build ups.
