Certainly don't feel overwhelmed but not underwhelmed about this either.

That level of awesomeness is about on par with my ever low expectations.

Great news. We really needed someone to fill that quarterback type role.

From what I saw of him at Feenux he is a fairly solid midfielder. Sort of box to box but prefers to be in behind the strikers. Actually not to dissimilar to James Brown but probably doesn't think he's a superstar like brown, eg may work for the team more.

tl;dr - an ok footballer but uninspiring and not what we need

Wouldn't he take a foreign spot?? I swear he was an American.

If that's the case, I'm underwhelmed.

Get him in as GK, great for throwing from deep.

Don't need someone who can throw from deep for GK. We need a lawn bowler so they can roll it to the back four.

If we sign Alex Smith, van Egmond has to go.

I was a supporter of GvE's, but we've had a ****ing loooooonnnnnnggggggggggggg off season and the best he can come up with is Alex Smith and that other Coastie bloke? FFS.

While we're on the topic of adding 2 and 2..

If we sign smith and sign burns, there's no squad spots left for a centre back

Looks that way unless Solari was signed on an apprentice-type contract (U20, min. wage). If Chapman is also still counted as one of these (dependent on him being on min. wage) then we'll have even more room to use.

Whether the Jets actually know all this is another thing though, lol. From the sounds of that last Jets Insider with Middleby he had just as much of an idea about it as us.
