Clever move by the club. Shows Duncan that he's still valued enough by the club and Merrick, and that Moss isn't automatically his replacement. It also means we've still got hold of Duncan for the following season as Moss is only on a one season deal. Duncan might not be the greatest A-league keeper around, but he certainly wasn't at the heart of our defensive problems last season.

Just throwing a final shout out for BK.

Saw his short his short piece before the Mariners pink game on Sunday about him and his late mum. The sacrifices he made at the time of her illness were admirable, such as training daily on next to no sleep.

When he told how his mum called him around one day to ask his permission to pass away I, and BK for that matter, became a blubbering mess.

He was never everyone's cup of tea but to his credit he gave his best, never whinged or whined, never claimed the No1 position was rightly his and supported Birraz fully when he had the shirt.

I wish him luck as a Gypo.

    huh?

not sure what #fakenews you're reading there Mr Master but BK retired at the end of last year.
all he needs to worry about now is getting measured up for his statue out the front of the stadium.

Yeah, tough day at the office for him..
Just watched all the goals, to be fair to him, there was probably only 1 of them that he was majorly at fault for (the usual cross comes in and he doesn't come out)..
The defending (if you can call it that) was abysmal..

Here is a podcast in which Ben Kennedy explain s why the Mariners are better than the Jets:

Now, I couldn't get past the first few minutes, but it's interesting that the hosts sound like teenagers yet one is about to become a grandfather.

Moss is doing a good job, does Duncan get a straight return to service?

Moss has barely put a foot wrong. Would be criminal to change just because JD started the season.

it is good debating between 2 decent keepers that cost out team about a combined $3.50 though.

Remember when we use to debate who was the better keeper to try and minimise the margin of defeat ??

Now we too busy working out which of our keepers deserves the honour of patrolling the penalty box smoking cigars whilst we stuff the opposition up the other end of the park

Unlucky for Duncan but the spot is Moss's to lose.
