    2013-14 Transfers

I think the Jets should be looking for:
    1. An experienced, solid central defender
    2. A good right winger
    3. A defensively solid left back
    4. A creative attacking mid
    5. A clinical finisher (Griffo type)

    What do people think?
Does anyone know what players from other A-League clubs that contracts are expiring at the end of the season?

Bridges won't be Foreign by next season, will he? Surely his citizenship comes through by then...

    Has BK been re-signed?

Out of those we should get Rojas or R. Garcia (although we probably won't be able to get Rojas), M. Thompson and Matt Ryan

Yep, I think there was an article about Bridges becoming an Australian citizen a month or so ago. He said something like if all goes to plan he should be an Australian citizen before the start of the next season.

Not that it really matters anyway, 'sif we'll make good use of all our foreign spots.

Means Heskey will be our only foreigner.

There really isn't much out there this year, is there.

I'd look at from within the comp:

    Jurman (CB)
    Thompson (LB)
    Garcia (RW)
    Liam Miller (CAM)

I believe during the season when Birraz was just starting to cement his spot as Newy No 1 HSG entered into negotiations with BK and ended up resigning him for another year or so.

Why I have no idea but it must be remembered this lot didn't want Lord Griffo, signed josh Mitchell and inflicted GVE on us so they have a track record for bizarre decisions

    Here is the article:

Note that there was a very similar one back at the start of 2012 and nothing came of that.

GvE said he's looking for an experienced central defender in the live chat so they seem to be looking in the right direction

Unless he pulls in an Aussie from overseas ie Cornthwaite DeVere Wilkinson Ogdenovski etc the only realistic option will be a foreigner. None of these blokes on the list are experienced enough let alone good enough for what we need

what about someone like ian harte as an experienced left back who can probably also play in the middle?

not getting game time at reading, is off contract and probably knows bridgey from the leeds days. could sign him on non-marquee money i imagine.

Isn't he nearly a thousand years old? If we thought Chapman got caught out for pace, surely Harte is at least half as slow again. No thanks.
