    jets pre-season games

surely the jets could have organised trials against clubs of higher standards than ZPL clubs.... congrats to these ZPL clubs for getting the chance to play against the jets, but for gods sake, it doesnt instill any confidence in this organisation that they elect for 2 teams with such a gap in playing levels and abilities. surely the option of getting as many NBN league clubs plus hopefully at least a couple of games against NBN select teams would be a better test considering that they are in a national league competition

I don't think the first two games are meant to be a "test"....they are only meant to get that well oiled machine kick started again after off season.

    The results will mean nothing.

Emerging Jets have been training at Plattsburg
Jets seniors train at Ray Watt Oval home of Uni

Ever consider that these games are just a token gesture of thankyou for the assistance the Jets receive from these clubs???

Even when the Jets do something positive and look after the local scene they get criticised

Have to agree with the big MFKS-dawg here.

They're two token pre-season games played 4 months before the season kicks off. I don't see what the issue is.

Ha! You're not the best person to comment on unwarranted criticism.

Was intending to go, until I realised I had prior commitments with the NPWS.

    Definitely at the next one.

ATTENTION NEWCASTLE JETS MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS: Tonight's trial match against Newcastle University FC has unfortunately had to be cancelled because of the inclement weather.

The Jets' next trial match is scheduled to take place against Plattsburg-Maryland FC at Ulinga Oval next Wednesday, June 26:
Another NBN ground that can't cope with light rain

Good question, why at Southy in the first place? They got to keep the canteen takings?
