how good was schurrle run and cross for gotze, pretty classy stuff

messi winning the golden ball was a disgrace, besides the iran game and switzerland game he has been mediocre at best.

would have given it to Muller or Rodriguez.

also would have given the golden glove to navas but can accept neur getting it.

I know his dives but how you can say anyone but Robben for the golden ball is crazy!
Bloke was the most dangerous player in every single match he played in.

James RodrÃ*guez best player on the park in 3 games he started.

The 4th the Brazil team butchered him

Thought Boateng and Mascherano were my standouts from this morning.

My vote for player of the tournament would have went to Robben or Mascherano I think.

Mascherano will almost never win individual plaudits. He's basically a really REALLY good Jobe Wheelhouse and no one really sees half of the good stuff he did.

Yes, I just compared Mascherano to Wheelhouse. Deal with it.

I really wanted Muller to score today so the annoying shits I have been dealing with at work who said, after I tipped Germany to go all the way, "****ING LOL, GERMANY HAVE NO STRIKER, CAN'T SCORE GOALS LOLOLOLOL" or words to that effect.

Beautiful. Similarly, Gotze's run in was just as nice.

The whole thing was WC winning worthy.

That's cause most of the planet sees him as no more than a hatchet man who hacks all and sundry.

Yet the bloke gets paid millions of dollars to be a grub

The cross and finish for the winning goal was brilliant. Germany were the best team all tournament and deserve to be world champions.

With respect to Messi. If this tournament hasn't ended the comparisons between Messi and Maradonna then nothing will.

He's simply not in the same league and never will be.

But, but, but. He's the Golden Ball winner. :bang head:

    So glad Germany won.
Argentina have been boring as f*** to watch all Cup, just scraping through their games with 90th minute goals. Probably deserved to make the final 4, but not much else.
And Messi for Golden Ball? ffs. Suppose it would've looked bad if they gave it to Ronaldo.
Agree with thoughts that Robben was a better candidate. Rodriguez, Shaqiri, Neur, Mueller were all above Messi for me.

On Messi, I think he proved a fair few of his critics wrong (myself included) with his performances at the World Cup. He needed to perform and lift his side through, similarly to what Ronaldo does with Portugal, which he did. But as far as a 90 minute effort goes, he was pretty lacklustre. FIFA trying to write the history books as he will go down as player of the tournament.

Agree. Boateng was awesome at the back today, Robben most influential with DiMaria not far behind. I thought DiM could have made a big difference for Argies if not injured but this happens to many teams.
Ozil seemed quiet today, thought podolski could have replaced him unless hes injured as well.

Aguerro is a grub suck it hard dawg.

Now into post tourny depression, fk.

Thought Mueller was best player across all tournament, but would have been fine seeing Robben or Rodriguez win it.
    Messi, not so much.
Jeez, Louise the bloke hasn't even reached Zidanes level let alone getting anywhere near Maradona.

Mascherano was awesome today (and usually is most days).
    Good final, best team won.
