This commentator... calling it offside from a throw in when it was a hold from Hoole. Muppet.

    Offside from a throwin

And this, ladies & gents, is why I watch games on mute - to avoid idiotic commentators

Even though I said earlier I didn't rate him at MV, he seems to be going OK tonight though. A tad shaky at times but he's putting in the hard yards.

I can see why Okon didn't want Amini in the squad - our midfield haven't stopped running all day, and Amini is probably the laziest player to choose from to put in there.

Freekicks aren't even fun when he doesn't bother with the foam

Kinda like the Socceroos v Japan the other week. Weren't expecting any points, and if at the start of the game you were offered 1 point you would have jumped on it. But after the game, you couldn't help but feel the 3 points were in the bag.

Although the difference is this Aus side actually looked deserving of 3 points, or even a point, whereas the NT vs Japan did not

Since when have any of our national teams one-two'd like that?

It's alright Hoole - we didn't want the ball in a great position anyway

Way, way better than I expected. If that's our "hard" team in the group, I fully expect us to get through the group stage.

Chapman looked solid, particularly when moving forward
The Beard was a monster - MoM for me for sure. Can not believe how much he's come on.
Hoole was great - although a few personality/temper issues turned his game a little sour at the end (basically just man-handling people & giving away needless fouls). If he calms himself, he could be terrific.
Taggz looked good, just didn't get the right balls. It didn't help his cause that their defence was amazing, and matched his pace.

Phone died for the second half, but for those who missed it - this was the best I've seen an Australian youth team play in the last 5 years or so of watching them. And when I say best I mean we were ****ing outstanding.

Foz nailed it at the end. Colombia played well because they had good players, especially the no. 10 Quintero who was an absolute beast. We played better because of our system and style was superior.

Back pv4 and other people's calls in this thread about the players 100%. The Beard was an animal, like a majestic lion brought up in one of those illegal farms by some fat American, caged for years with only the capuchin monkeys to keep him company, until one day he was released into the world
